PLATEAU STATE PDP HAILS PEACEFUL CONDUCT OF ZONAL CONGRESS IN MAKURDI .

The Leadership of the Plateau State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party headed by Hon. Christopher Adukuchili Hassan has expressed gratitude to the Zonal Leader of Peoples Democratic party Governor Samuel Ortom for hosting a successful Zonal Congress of the party at the weekend in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.

The spokesman of the party John Akans in a statement issued to newsmen shortly after peaceful Zonal Party Congress, noted with satisfaction the role played by Zonal Leaders of the party such as,
Senator David mark, former Senate President Senator Bukola Saraki, Plateau former Governor Senator J.D. Jang.

Others Akans said were, Senator Gabriel Suswam, Babangida Aliyu, the BOT Chairman Senator Walid Jibrin, and several other leaders of the party in the zone, for exhibiting uncommon statesmanship and competence in handling the entire process that culminated to the peaceful conduct of the Zonal election.

He Commended the Delegates for the confidence they have on Plateau sons and daughter in the persons of Hon. Theoplilus Dakashan, Hon. Joseph Danladi Gyang and Hon. Mrs. Olivia Dazyam respectively.

According to him, ,” The Party wishes to acknowledge the patriotic disposition, displayed by the entire Delegates of the zone during the affirmation of all the Zonal candidates that made the electoral process peaceful.

We congratulate these successful candidates for their emergence as party executives of the zone. It is worthy to note that by this resounding victory and successful election, the Peoples Democratic Party in the zone has successfully established its root beyond doubt that the North Central zone is PDP and we are ready for 2023, especially with the effort put in place by our amiable leader, His Excellency Governor Samuel Ort

Akans also appreciated, the welcome/support given by the Benue State Chapter of their party, adding that It is quite obvious that the coast of victory ahead is very clear and undoubtedly promising.

KILLING OF 8 MINERS IN JOS SOUTH LGA: Governor Lalong Tasks Security Agencies To Fish Out Perpetrators.

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has expressed sadness over attack on a mining site in Kuru, Jos South Local Government Area which left 8 miners dead.

Governor Lalong while reacting to the incident expressed anger over what he described as another desperate attempt by criminals to destabilise his State and create fear among the people.

According to him, the state Government will not condone such attacks on innocent citizens, and directed security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of this dastardly act which is capable of disrupting the substantial peace prevailing in the State.

While commiserating with the families of those who were killed and those who sustained injuries, Lalong reiterated his charge to security agencies to treat such attacks with serious ness it deserves as excuses of “unknown gunmen” will no longer be tolerated.

Governor Lalong also advised the citizens to assist law enforcement agencies with useful intelligence, leveraging on structures such as the Traditional Institutions, Community Police Constabulary, vigilante groups and other associations.

Hassan Plateau PDP Chairman Says there Is No Crisis in his Party. * Charge Party faithful to shun rumormongers.

The Plateau Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Hon Chris Hassan has declared that there is no crisis.

Hassan stated this on Friday while addressing his party contigents for Benue- Makurdi Zonal congresses of the party.

He called upon party faithful to shun all forms of rumormongers being in circulation by enermies of the party.

According to him, party contigents will participate fully in the Zonal congresses.

He told the delegates to remain faithful to the party leadership, assuring them that allowances meant for the delegates would be given to them.

Hassan added that under his chairmanship, every member of the party are to be treated as stakeholders of the party.

Delegates to the Makurdi Zonal congress from the state were said to have resolved to back the re election of Dakas Shan as Zonal vice chairman of the party.

Others recommended for positions are, Barr Olivia Dayzem for the position of national ex Officio and Joseph Gyang Danladi for zonal ex Officio.

Deputy Speaker Wase tasks NULGE Union leaders to carry out more Sensitisation On Local Government Autonomy.

Deputy Speaker House of Representative Ahmed Idris Wase says allowing the voice of minority opinion triumph without being challenged by opinion of the vast majority accords such minority views value.

The Deputy Speaker stated this in Jos while playing host to the Plateau state Leadership of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) at his residence in Jos during the Easter break.
The Deputy Speaker while responding to the appeal by the Union for support and advocacy towards the discontinuation of proceedings on the bill seeking the delisting of local Governments, Removal of Minimum wage from the Exclusive to the Concurrent List and the granting of Local Government Autonomy during the forthcoming Constitution amendment, noted that the National Assembly’s doors are open to all opinions, pointing out that the popularity of the position of those favorably disposed to the delisting of local Governments and movement of the minimum wage are entitled to their views and if left unchallenged by voices against it will give it impetus and smooth sailing.
Wase tasked the union leadership to galvanize support from all its members across the nation towards making its voice and opinion heard on its position about these contending issues.

He appreciated the Union for realizing the place of lobbying in a democratic setting and assured them of the National Assembly’s readiness of deliberating and passing bills that are peoples oriented and has potential of invoking national growth and development.

On the Constitutional amendment and the demand for Local Government Autonomy, the House of Representatives number two man noted that as chairman of the House Constitutional amendment committee, Wase said work has begun in earnest, preparatory towards the exercise.

He called on the labour leaders to ensure they do their own part of the bargain by creating the needed awareness .

The Deputy Speaker charged the union leadership to be faithful and steadfast in its sworn mandate of improving the welfare of members, stressing that the price of leadership is always bearing the pains and burdens of followers which requires patience, tolerance and understanding as virtues.

He also appealed the leadership of union to close ranks with government towards the peaceful and amicable resolution of issues.

Earlier, The State President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Yohanna Arondong Makwin while disclosing their mission to the Deputy speaker, commiserated with the Deputy Speaker on the sudden demise of the member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal constituency at the National Assembly Haruna Maitala who died recently in a ghastly motor accident.
Arondong eulogized the sterling leadership quality of the Deputy Speaker for making positive impact on the lives of his constituents through various empowerment programs.

He also Commended Wase for sponsoring very significant bills such as, the bill for the establishment of Federal Medical Centre Wase and bill for the amendment of the Orthopedic Hospital Management Board to provide for the establishment of Orthopedic Hospital Jos among other valuable contributions on the floor of the hallowed chamber.

The NULGE President said their visit on the Deputy Speaker became imperative in view of the critical nature of the two anti people bills which are against productivity, growth and development stressing that local governments are integral components of states and as well has the responsibility of playing host to a larger percentage of the nation’s population.

He added that granting of Local Government autonomy is therefore a significant yardstick for the achievement of it’s statutory mandate.

Federal LawMaker representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency at House Of Representatives, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, has sent warm greetings to former President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator David A. B. Mark on his 73rd birth anniversary.

Dr. Ottah Agbo, popularly known as the Ozigizaga and Moving Train of Enone Politics in a statement by his Media Adviser, Mr. Andrew Agbese made available to Oracle Reporters, said Senator Mark as Senate President, helped to stabilize democracy in Nigeria with his political sagacity and administrative acumen.

The Lawmaker who is the House Committee Chairman on Narcotic Drugs and Spokesman of the Minority Caucus, said having followed the politics and leadership style of Senator Mark for years, he can say without fear of contradiction that the former Senate President is a leader.

FG Set To Lift Nigeria Out Of Poverty Through ERGP, NSMEs —-Says Minister Of Industry,Trade and Investment Otunba Adebayo.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Otunba Niyi Adebayo has declared that the federal government is doing all it entails to lift the country out of poverty and youth unemployment in the country.

According to him, the policies includes, the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), the Economic Sustainability Plan and the various support schemes for the MSMEs sectors of the economy.

Otunba Adebayo stated this on Thursday at the 2020 ITF Merit awards ceremony held at the corporate headquarters of the organisation in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

He used the occasion to Commend the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for equipping the youths with requisite skills and trainings that can take the country out of poverty and further generate unemployment adding that the score card presented by DG ITF Joe Ari, depicted that the Fund has not relented in its efforts to effectively discharge on its Mandate.

Represented at the event by Director of Human Resources Management of the Ministry Mr Samuel Alabi, the Minister noted that ITF is one Agency that has been at the forefront of these efforts adding that it has become a dependable ally of the Federal Government by the Implementation of several skills intervention programmes that have trained over 500,000 since the Director-General, Sir Joseph Ari, assumed office in 2016.

“It is for this reason and in appreciation of its contributions to National growth, that the Council for the Development of the Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), headed by His Excellency, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, GCON, rewarded the ITF with the prestigious Award of Excellence as Outstanding MSMEs Clinic Star Partner and the Award for outstanding contribution to the development of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria respectively.

He said it was also for contributions that it was made a member of the MSMEs Council, which is headed by the Vice President and member of the MSMEs Survival Fund under the Nigerian Economic Sustainability Plan.

“It is equally noteworthy that the ITF has been mentioned and identified by the Presidency as the foremost Agency of Government at the forefront of Federal Governments Job and wealth creation policy.

The Fund was among the few Agencies requested by the Federal Government to forward submissions on the best approach to lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty” he said.

He urged the ITF Management not to relent in empowering Nigerians with technical skills, but to train more Nigerians and by so doing etch the name of the ITF in gold and called on the State Governments, Non-Governmental Organisations, Faith-Based Organisations and other well-meaning Nigerians to collaborate with the ITF to tackle the challenges of poverty and unemployment that is bedevilling our dear Nation.

The Director General of the Fund Mr. Joe Ari in his opening remarks said ITF was among the few Agencies requested by the Federal Government to forward submissions on lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.

According to him, If the proposal, which is currently receiving the attention of the authorities is assented to, the ITF will train over 7million Nigerians in the Agriculture, Construction and Facility Maintenance, Information and Communication Technology, Manufacturing and Services sectors between 2021 and 2031.

He added that the Fund has have declared the year 2021 “Skills Escalation for Prosperity,” and has commenced processes for the implementation of more skills intervention programmes.

Said he:”The Programmes earmarked for implementation are the National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP), the Construction Skills Empowerment Programme (CONSEP), the Skills Training and Empowerment Programme for the Physically Challenged (STEPP-C), the Passion to Profession Programme (P2PP), and the Agri-Preneurship Training Programme (ATP)”

Civil Service Is The Engine Room Of Government – NCPC BOSS Rev Pam.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam has described the Civil service as the engine Room of Government.

He made the disclosure in Abuja while receiving in audience the Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr. Dasuki Arabi.

Pam assured his guest that the Commission would partner with the Bureau in order to improve on the areas the Commission is not performing well.

He described the role of the Bureau as strategic that would help to improve the services of Agencies of government.

Rev. Pam intimated Mr. Arabi that his Commission is saddled with the responsibility of coordinating and supervising the movement of Christians from Nigeria to Israel and other Holy sites around the world.

He Further stated that one of his six point Agenda on assumption of office is to fight and eradicate corruption especially by strengthening the procurement process of the Commission to meet with national and international standards.

Pam also reiterated that among other focal points of his administration is to build good relationship with Strategic Stakeholders as well as Reorientation of the mindset of intending pilgrims who are expected to be fantastically transformed after embarking on the spiritual journey.

The NCPC boss also commended the Director General and his team for the good work the Bureau is doing.

Earlier, the Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, BPSR, Mr. Dasuki Arabi informed the NCPC Boss that his Agency was set up in 2004 to carry out positive reforms in all Agencies of Government.

He explained that the Bureau helps government Agencies to do better and serve as the engine room for reforms.

He stressed that citizens access service by coming in contact with parastatals, hence the need to interface with the Commission on how to assess and improve on what NCPC is doing.

Mr. Arabi also informed the NCPC boss that the Bureau was working with a national strategy on public service reforms and has developed a self assessment tool.

The Director General Commended the transformation that had taken place in the Public Service since 2004 which include; the introduction of the Single Treasury Account, TSA, Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, IPPIS which according to him has eliminated ghost workers by 80 percent, amongst others.

The Director General of BPSR was accompanied on the courtesy visit by his management staff while the NCPC Director of Administration, Mr. Barnabas Ali also participated at the meeting.

Senator Dadu’ut Hails President Buhari over Establishment of Federal Polytechnic Shendam with Take Off grant of N2 billion

Senator Nora Dadu’ut representing Plateau South at National Assembly has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for the approval of a Federal Polytechnic, Shendam in Plateau State with a take off grant of N2 billion.

Senator Dadu’ut in an interview with newsmen in Jos, said the institution will help in addressing issues of out-of-school children and improve the economy of the people of her Senatorial district.

Senator Dadu’ut also appealed to the Federal Government to direct the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to send relief materials to support victims of the fire incident that engulfed the popular Namu multi million naira Central Yam Market in Qua’an Pan Local government Area of Plateau state.

She said the recent fire disaster at the Yam market led to the loss of food products and other yvaluables worth millions of naira .

According to her, Namu Yam market is the largest farm produce market in the state .

Senator Dadu’ut who just marked her 100 days in Office, hinted that she would continue to put the interest of her constituents first at all times .

She also promised not to disappoint the people of the Zone and the entire state during her time in the senate .

Prof Nora who is the first female senator from Plateau added. that she would continue to empower the people of her Constituency towards reducing poverty levi in her Senatorial zone.

Insurbodination, Indicipline, And Absenteeism will be Stamped Out of ITF- DG Ari.

Director- General of Industrial Training Fund Sir Joe Ari has expressed the determination of his management to stamp out acts of Indicipline, Insurbodination and Absenteeism and other related issues from Industrial Training Fund.

Ari gave this charge on Wednesday at ITF Headquarters Jos during his address at the 2020 Annual performance Review meeting.

According to him,” incidents of absenteeism, insurbodination and similar misconducts should not be treated with levity.”

He reminded the staffs of ITF to be 100 percent loyal to the ITF inview of the fact that whatever false information that they circulate about the organization will have adverse effect on its very Existence.
” Where it is discovered that any member of the workforce is engaged in activities inimical to it’s progress and development, appreciate sanctions would be applied in all cases.”

He also warned officers not to collude with some employers of labour to defraud ITF, stressing that as leaders at various levels, they have responsibility to act decisively where such cases are brought to their notice.

” I must stress here that if management discovers such in any Area office, and it is known that responsible officers fails to take appropriate steps, it would be concluded that they were complicit ln the act and will face similar sanctions as the actors”

Ari charged his management and staff to remember that as leaders,they have a duty of care and responsibility to protect ITF and work towards achieving it’s Corporate goals, cautioning that anything short of this, will not be considered good enough.

Development Trust Initiative (DTI) Trains Graduates On Skills Development Out Side White Collar Jobs.

Development Trust initiative,a Jos based non governmental Organization has organized a one day Training programe for Unemployed graduates in Jos and it’s environs on skills development to make them productive rather than waiting endlessly for employment jobs.

Acting Director of Development Trust Initiative, Lydia Mang in an interview with Oracle Reporters st the end of a one day program held at Gold and Base, Jos said four experts in human resources development took on the trainees who came for the program on ” Exploring entrepreneurship options, After graduation and NYSC, What next and other interesting issues that could make young graduates employable .

At the end of the program, Acting Director of DTI Miss Mang said the participants got more than they expected at the workshop.

According to her, they are working on sustainable development and as such what we are doing is taking development approaches towards tackling issues that affects the environment.

She added that at DTI, their target demography is women and youths adding that right now,” we are working on women empowerment in a Community around Mangu LGA in Plateau state.”

According to her, women needs e xperience in empowerment, needs capital, education, opportunities etc to keep them on sound Footing in every aspect of their lives.
