ECWA Church General Council Decries forceful take over Of Ungoverned land spaces in Nigeria by Criminal Elements.

The 68th General Church Council of Envagelical Church Winning All (ECWA) National leadership has raised alarm over general state of Insecurity in parts of Nigeria, describing the current forceful take over of ungoverned spaces by criminal elements and non state actors as regrettable and condemnable.

The ECWA leadership led by it’s President Rev Dr Stephen Baba Panya after 5 days brainstorming at the international conference Hall of the Church Headquarters in Jos ,in a Communique issued to newsmen at the weekend,,expressed regrets that from what they have observed, Criminal Elements seems to be in control in the country vis-a-vis the seeming inability of government is decisively deal with the menace as well as protect the citizenry from the prowling merchants of death.

The ECWA General council Dr Panya said were worried over Attacks on Christian communities in the Middle Belt, the North and other parts of the country and the needles of destruction of lives and properties by Fulani Jihadists militia and Boko Haram.
” The council cautions government against politicization of security matters”

They equally condemned forceful occupation of natives farmlands and systematic genocide being executed against Christians and other autochthonous communities through out Nigeria, especially in the middle belt region.

” This is typically ochestrated through continuous raid on Christian farming Communities with lethal weapon s often in the dead of the night, wherein thousands of our people have been murdered in cold blood and their lands expropriated by the maurading aggressors”

The ECWA ChurchGeneral council also expressed regrets over the neglect of Internally displaced persons camps especially in the middle belt and other parts of the country.

According to them, the prolonged homelessness of the IDPs camps has made them to start feeling hopeless and called on federal government to ensure the return of these IDPs to their ascestral patrimonies..

The ECWA church general council also raised concern over the on going agitation s for secession and restructuring in parts of the country.
According to them, these agitation s for restructuring and secession among various the various aggrived nationalities of the Nigerian state were borne out of perturbing systematic injustices which are rife in the polity.

They called for the implementation of the resolution s of the 2014 national conference, warning that the non Implementation of these resolutions reached at that conference would cause more harm than whatever good the non Implementation was supposed to serve.

Nigerians Should Work Together to over come current Security Challenges in the Country- NCPC Executive Secretary Rev Pam

The Executive Secretary, Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam has called on Nigerians cutting across the six geo Political zones of Nigeria to unite and join forces together in the Task of over coming the prevailing security challenges in the country.

Pam stated this on Saturday in Jos while on a courtesy visit on the new President of Envagelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Rev Dr Stephen Baba Panya at his official resident.

Rev Pam noted that no part of Nigeria and the world can operate in isolation and applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for providing needed support for peace and unity among the people of Nigeria.

“These are the times we need ourselves very well. As human race, need each other and Nigeria in particularly because the insecurity is increasing. As leaders, we need to encourage each other and also to celebrate with each other in terms of good things that comes our way.

According to him, The current situation in the country is so critical which requires that Nigerians that ” we need ourselves as no human race will succeed by staying alone without each other. We need the synergy of one another, we need the wisdom of one another to be able to over come the insecurity that is bedeviling us and other things.”

Pam solicited the support of the Church leaders in the country in preaching moral virtues that will promote peace and unity in the country.

According to him, it was as a result of this challenge that the NCPC and Northern CAN paid a solidarity visit to the President of Evangelical Church Winning All to congratulate him on his reelection.

Rev Pam also paid a condolence visit to the family of former member representing Jos North/ Bassa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Late Haruna Maitala who died in a ghastly motor accident and the family of the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Patrick Sati Dapit who died recently in Jos .

Arrangements for commencement of airlift of Christian Pilgrims to the Holy Land for 2020/21 pilgrimage set to begins in May, next in Nigeria.

This decision was reached on Thursday after an emergency meeting of Conference of States held at the Conference Hall of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, in Abuja.

Ayuba Pam,Media Aide to NCPC Boss Rev Yakubu Pam in a statement made available to the Oracle Reporters on Thursday night, said the meeting was held via zoom and had in attendance majority of the Executive Secretaries and Board Chairmen of States Christian Pilgrim Welfare Boards, SCPWBS including the Federal Capital Territory,, Abuja.

According to him, the meeting was convened to review the state of readiness of the commission on this year’s possible pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Jordan.

The meeting came on the heels of a recent trip of the Executive Secretary and the Commission top officials to the Kingdom of Jordan on exploration of Holy sites .

Speaking at the meeting, NCPC Executive Secretary, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam called on all in attendance to discuss frankly and come up with decisions that should restore the confidence of Christians and especially those intended Pilgrims who had paid their fares to perform last year’s pilgrimage but couldn’t following the outbreak of Covid19 and the subsequent lockdown worldwide.

He assured them that all decisions reached would be communicated to the federal government promising to backup the decision s reached with official letter to all State Governors to appeal to them to support whatever decision to be taken.

Far reaching decisions and affirmative actions were considered and taken at the meeting as stakeholders resolved to include for the first time in it’s history the Kingdom of Jordan alongside Israel known to host many old Testament biblical sites where Moses led the children of Israel out from Egypt to the Promised Land.

Chairman of the Conference of States and the Taraba State Chairman of CPWB, Rev. Isaiah Magaji who read the position of the Conference applauded the initiatives of the ES and pledged cooperation in this direction.

Among the decisions reached, Rev Magaji noted were the importance of Jordan to the Christian faith noting that it as an important era during the sojourn of Israelites in Egypt and their subsequent Exodus to Canaan enroute most parts of Jordan like the The River Zarqa believed to link the biblical River Jabbok where Jacob was said to have crossed on his way to Canaan.

Other critical Sites explored on the visit were Ammon- Madaba where according to history the Byzantine mosaics excavation were seen including the famous Madaba Map showing the Holy Land.

Other place to be visited in the course of this year’s pilgrimage is Mount Nebo where Moses stood to see the Promised Land shortly before he died as decreed by God.

He added that the baptismal site where Jesus was baptised at the River Jordan and where He healed the two mad men of evil casting the devil out of them into herd of pigs in Umm Qais will be visited by the Pilgrims..

Rep Francis Ottah Agbo Offers 33 Youths100 Percent ICT Scholarship

Member House of Representatives Representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo, has offered 33 youths from his constituency full scholarship on Supersonic Artificial Intelligence, Cyberspace Superhighway Digital Skills and other forms of ICT programmes.

Beneficiaries of the scholarship were selected based on merit from the three Local Governments in Enone Constituency irrespective of political affiliations.

A statement by Mr.Andrew Agbese, the Media Adviser to Dr. Ottah Agbo,made available to ORACLE REPORTERS, explained that the Lawmaker registered the 30 persons for the Hiit online training and footed the bill 100 percent.

Hiit, is a global ICT firm, provides quality and affordable access to online training and education using the criteria of Learning Outcomes and Return on Investment (ROI) and combines a variety of training methodologies such as online(real-time) interactive classes, videos, whiteboards, simulations labs and has a 25 year experience in ICT training and education.

Dr. Ottah Agbo, Agbese said took the decision to sponsor his constituents to expand their knowledge in ICT as it will enhance their potentials and give them an edge in the ever expanding knowledge driven world economy.

He said with the competitiveness in all sectors, Enone youths must be properly equipped to hold their heads high wherever they find themselves as the future is bleak for youths who lack training in ICT.

The Lawmaker urged beneficiaries to be serious with the programme so that they can in turn impart knowledge to others.

Mr. Ernest Okpe, one of the beneficiaries of the scholarship commended Dr. Ottah Agbo for the kind gesture.

He said, “The highest investment a leader can have in his followers is human capital development.

This is what distinguished Senator Kwankwaso from other leaders. This is what has gotten you a comfortable place in the comity of the very few visionary leaders in our country today.

CEO of Hiit in Nigeria, Mr. Kayode Shobajo at the opening ceremony of the programme on Monday, commended Dr. Ottah Agbo for sponsoring as many as 30 persons for the programme .

He said the programme is designed in such a way that beneficiaries would go home with the best form of ICT training at the end of the programme.

He called on other politicians to emulate Dr. Ottah Agbo by keying into the Information Technology by sponsoring their people into such programmes.

Dr. Ottah Agbo on his part,promised that by next year, more people will be enrolled into the programme in order to broaden the knowledge of his constituents and equip them for the future.

Member Representing Olamaboro state Constituency at Kogi state House of Assembly Hon Anthony Alewo Ujah has called on Muslim Ummah in his Olamaboro state Constituency to use this season of Ramadan fast to reflect on the essence of the season.

Hon Ujah in a statement issued in Lokoja and made available to newsmen at the weekend, said this season is a period for Muslims in his Constituency to fast and pray for peace of their state and the Nation in general.

He also task them to use this season for soul searching and deep spiritual exercise.

Senator ID Gyang Decries Killing of six Persons at Wereng Community of Riyom LGA of Plateau North. .

Senator I. D. Gyang representing Plateau North Senatorial district at National Assembly has decried the latest killing of six persons at Wereng village of Riyom LGA of Plateau state.

This incident occurred, barely a day after he spoke on the floor of the Senate drawing the attention of the nation to the killing of 8 miners at Kuru in Jos South LGA, of his state.

Senator Gyang in a statement issued at the weekend through his Media Aide Musa Ibrahim Ashoms and made available to ORACLE REPORTERS, expressed worry over the pattern of the assailants attacks and killing of their victims.

According him, these assailants have no respect nor regard for the sanctity of human lives.

“They lay ambush, attack and kill unsuspecting citizens going about their lawful quest to earn a living” Gyang lamented..

According to Senator Gyang, the Wereng Killing was said to be massive attack by a large contingent of black attired bandits with red barrets who open gun fire on the village leaving six dead in their trail.

” This is indicative of a standing killer militia of bandits unleased on the peace loving people of Plateau North”

Senator Gyang called on the Soldiers of Operation Safe haven (STF), Police and DSS to urgently arrest and checkmate the resurgence of wickedness and killing of law abiding citizens in Plateau North.

He equally tasked security operatives on the Plateau to fish out the perpetrators of this dastardly acts and bring them to face justice to serve as detterent to prospective terrorists, bandits and killer herdsmen on the Plateau.

He urged law abiding citizens and vulnerable communities in Local Government Areas of Plateau North to be watchful and prayerful in the face of increasing danger and threats to their lives and livelihood.

How Plateau North Peoples Senator, ID Gyang Uses  Grass Roots Football Tournament To Work for Peace and Reconciliation in Plateau North Senatorial District.

Senator ID Gyang is one politician that knows his Onion as a grass Root leader who works round the clock for the much needed lasting peace in his senatotrial district of Plateau North.

So, it was not a surprise to his Political admirers.that the First ever Plateau North Peace, Unity and Reconciliation Football tournament was organized by the Peoples Senator I.D Gyang within the first quarter of this year.

The Northern zone grass Root Footbal tournament which featured many teams started on the 23rd of January 2021 and was round up on the 21st of March, 2021.

Oracle Reporters gathered that not less than 77 teams cutting across all the wards in Plateau North presented teams that featured in the maiden Plateau North Peace,Unity and Reconciliation football tournament.

Each of the teams displayed their football artistry during the competition by showcasing their potential on the field of play in a competition that lasted for almost three months.

Grass Roots Football teams went through first , second and third rounds to produce the winner, runners up and third place winner of the tournament who carted away home prizes .

The finals of the competition was held on Sunday 21st March 2021 with the Senate President Ahmed Lawan as the special guest and Plateau former Governor Senator Jonah David Jang as the Father of the day.

The tournament show case the teams skills and talents in the game of Football throughout the tournament.

One lesson learnt from the competition was that the competition exposed the talents of the youths of Plateau North to the outside world, that given the opportunity, they can feature and play well in Nigeria local leagues if hired into local football clubs and foreign football Clubs

No wonder, in less than a month after the conclusion of the competition,FIFA Agent like Philip Dusu who is based in Finland came calling to partner with Senator Gyang on grass Roots Development in the zone.

Worthy of mention too,was the splashing of N6 million on the ID Gyang football tournament by the Captain of Super Eagles of Nigeria Ahmed Musa.

The House of Representatives Deputy speaker Idris Maje wase also gave financial support to the players who participated in the competition.

Throughout the tournament, people of Plateau North troops out to watch and cheer the players at various fields of the competition putting their differences aside .

Petty traders were not left of the show, as they were all over the place hawking their wares, selling food and sachet waters to foot ball players and spectators.

Truly speaking, Senator ID Gyang, a former permanent secretary security in the Plateau Civil service, Member House of Representatives and now Senator of the federal Republic has touched the lives of Plateau Youths through grass Root Football development and equally touched the lives of women and men with empowerment programs that has brought about the much needed Peace, Unity and Reconciliation among the diverse peoples of Plateau North under the current dispensation in Plateau North Senatorial district of Plateau state.

Governor Simon Bako Lalong has again advocated for tolerance and religious harmony as a catalyst for peace, security and good governance in Nigeria.

The Governor was speaking at the installation and reception of Pallium by the new Catholic Archbishop of Jos Most. Revd. Dr. Mathew Ishaya Audu held at the Divine Mercy Cathedral, Lamingo -Jos.

Lalong while congratulating the Archbishop said within one year of assuming duties, His Grace Most. Rev
Mathew Audu has demonstrated that his calling is divine and that he is totally committed to ensuring that the will of God is implemented in Plateau State and the world at large through the Church.

Lalong said the Archbishop has given the Laity, religious and clergy the needed leadership to enable them carry out their duties in the service of God and humanity without any hindrance. He has made personal sacrifices to ensuring that all challenges are addressed to make the propagation of the gospel of Christ seamless.

Lalong said “While it is the duty of religious leaders to speak the truth to power and the public, you should also beware of, and shun rhetorics that promote hate, division, and distrust among the people. You should guard against politicians and other interests that are always desperate to exploit the pulpit for their selfish reasons. The people look up to you for guidance and motivation that guarantees a united, equitable and prosperous society where the rights and privileges of all are guaranteed. Be assured that my administration will continue to work with you as we build a better Plateau and Nigeria of our dream”.

Apostolic Nuncio to Nigeria Most. Revd. Anthonio Fillipazzi said the presentation of the Pallium to the Archbishop is a significant event that confers authority on the Archbishop to discharge his duties in line with the doctrine of the Catholic Church. He called for prayers for Archbishop Audu as he shepherds the Church within his jurisdiction even in difficult times.

Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba also congratulated the Archbishop and promised the support of the traditional Institution for the Church and the Government.

Archbishop Audu thanked God for bestowing on him this assignment which he intends to do his best to discharge. He thanked His Holiness Pope Francis for the installation and called for unity in the body of Christ in Plateau State, Nigeria and the world at large.

He also assured of his intention to continue to work for inter-faith harmony, tolerance and forgiveness in Plateau State and elsewhere just as his predecessor, Archbishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama had done. Archbishop Ishaya Audu also marked his 20th Anniversary as Bishop.

The newly installed 27th Long Kwo of Kwo Chiefdom of Kwande District of Qua’anpan Local Government Council of Plateau State Colonel Fidelis Attahiru Longtoe 1 has formally resumed in his Palace in Kwo Chiefdom .

His subjects jn their hundreds accompanied with Gamai’s Masquerades lined up the road in their traditional attires ecarrying fresh leaves to welcome the traditional ruler in what observers described as a triumphant entry into Kwo Chiefdom.

Prior to the arrival of Miskoom Fidelis Attahiru Longtoe 1 from Jos to Kwo, traditional preparation and rites of passage was conducted before his home coming as he was ushered into the palace .

While on his from Jos to Long Kwo, he stopped over at Quan’an pan LG Headquarters Ba’ap to pay homage to the Long Pan Nda Emmanuel Dabang and the Chairman of Qua’anpan LGC Hon. Abdulmalik Haruna at the council secreteriat .

Speaking at the palace of Long Pan and Qua’anpan local government council’s secreteriat the new Long Kwo Miskoom Fidelis Attahiru Longtoe 1 lamented the 33 years absence of leadership in Kwo chiefdom.

He further promised to build bridges of reconciliation and friendship with neighbouring communities with a view to ensure harmonious co-existence among the people.

He added that no meaningful development will take place in an atmosphere of bitterness and rancour .

The new Long Kwo also said he hold in trust the mandate that was given to him by the people stressing that he will continue to interface with relevant Government agencies to ensure that Kwo as a farming Chiefdom get farming implements and inputs so that they can engage their youths who have been made idle for the past 33 years to contribute their quota to the development of the Chiefdom, State and the Federal Government food security initiatives .

The Kwo Chiefdom monarch assured that he will carry all Princes of the Chiefdom along in his quest to unite the people and develop the Chiefdom for the benefit of all.
