Attai Okwuta Audu Jos.

The newly elected leadership of Plateau APC headed by Hon Rufus Bature has warned one Ishaya Itse to desist from parading himself as factional Chairman of the ruling Party in Plateau state.

Spokesman of APC in the state Sylvanus in a strong worded statement in Jos on Friday and made Available to Daily Independent captioned” Word Of Caution For Ishaya Itse” said
the APC in Plateau state would want to caution the impostor or so-called factional Chairman to stop the tissue of lies he has been peddling with a view to pulling the wool across the eyes of unsuspecting watchers of events on the Plateau”

According to Namang, if the impostor claimed he paid for nomination form and was denied its issuance, let him show to the media who remain neutral and whose services are available to all, evidence of such payment and to which bank he paid to or shut up.”

Namang warned Ishaya Itse and his co-travelers not to unnecessarily continue to mischievously overheat the system.

“Perhaps he paid to the opposition party which has been passionate about pursuing his case or he might have been swindled by some 419ners.
If he has any sponsors in APC, he should by now realise that he has since been abandoned and left all alone to lick his own wounds.”

He advised Itse that he is at liberty to move to the PDP which is already a house divided against itself without faking impression of being an APC member as he has since been booted out by his Jos Jarawa Ward.

According to Namang, the APC remains a party of progressive minded democrats whose dispute resolution mechanism is second to none.

.
The Plateau APC Spokesman added that APC has continued to attract wide followers across the state and country because it is a party for progressive minded Democrats.

.
” Ishaya Itse’s ranting is an attempt in futility as it cannot take him anywhere beyond the mobile office that he operates” Namang stressed.

Attai Audu Jos

Governor Simon Lalong on Wednesday Inagurated a 17 Man Steering Committee headed by his Deputy Governor Professor Sonnie Tyoden to lay the foundation for the growth and long-term development of Plateau State over the next thirty years.

According to Lalong that is the focus of Plateau State Agenda 2050. He said

Lalong in his address at the event, said in his Government continuous efforts to leave behind positive and lasting legacies for the people of Plateau State,” I had charged the Programme Management and Results Delivery Office (PMRDO), to work with our State Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Office, to leverage on the experiences and the lessons learned from our participation at the 2019 session of the United Nations General Assembly to craft a development plan that will outlive this current administration.”

He said he was excited to receive the report that these two offices successfully collaborated to attract the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for the development of the Plateau State Agenda 2050.

” It is our intention to maximize this opportunity which the UNDP has provided for Plateau State to prepare for a better future.”

According to him, the Plateau State Agenda 2050 will not only build upon the gains of the current Plateau State Development Strategy 2019 – 2023, but will also deliberately align our aspirations as a State to the global development targets and indicators captured in the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).’

Lalong noted that “He who fails to plan, plans to fail.” Going by the dynamic nature of global challenges that resonate with every part of the world including Plateau State.

He said his Government is dete

rmined to ensure that ‘we are not caught napping. That is the reason why we are laying down this plan to ensure that Plateau State does not fail particularly in the days of adversity.”

He however said they are conscious of the dwindling inflow of resources from the centre, and the resultant agitations from various States in Nigeria for a review of the revenue sharing formula.

He added that their aspiration as a State is to continue to grow and develop in such a manner that in no distant time, they will no longer need to depend on the inflow of resources from the centre.

”Already, we have started looking inwards and achieving modest results, saying
Plateau State is blessed with so many natural resources in agriculture; solid minerals; and tourism, which should make their State a significant net surplus contributor to the national coffers.

” I believe Nigerians have not forgotten the fact that Plateau State in the past played a key role in sustaining the Nigerian economy with the tin and Columbite from her mines for several decades before the advent of oil in this country.”

Lalong stressed that Plateau can do it again as those resources are still available in abundance, adding that. besides, they have human resources and talents in various fields that are ready to offer the world which is why ‘we have planned an Economic and Investment Summit that will enable us remind investors of the vast opportunities that Plateau State is blessed with.

He charged the Steering Committee to leave no stone unturned in the effort of developing a blueprint that will restore Plateau State to the top three States in Nigeria with respect to economic development, good governance, and the social welfare of her people.

Governor Lang has no hand in Plateau PDP Internal Crisis- Namang, Plateau APC Spokesman.

Attai Okuta Audu Jos.

The Plateau Chapter of All Progressive Congress has Condemned what they called unprofessional, uncouth and pedestrian deployment of language and vituperation which they alleged has become the trademark of John Akans, the State Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party against Plateau state Governor Barr Simon Lalong.

The Publicity secretary of the Party Sylvanus Namang in a press statement in Jos on Wednesday which was made available to Daily Independent, called for a stop to this habitual crudity so that they can engage in civilised and decent conversation .

According to Namang,. APC takes serious exception to the usual tantrums by John Akans on the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong.

He querried the uncouth term used by John Akans in his latest statement where he described Governor Lalong as “so-called leader of the APC in Plateau state is to invariably not recognising him as the Governor of the state.”

“We should learn to respect our leaders no matter our frustration, which in the case of the PDP in Plateau state is necessitated by its self inflicted derailment as a party. ”

According to Namang,Political parties will come and go but Plateau State and its interest would remain.

While responding to issues raised
in the press statement by the PDP spokesman, Namang wondered why Plateau PDP as a party is still blaming Governor Lalong for the litany of woes that have befallen it even in the face of glaring suicide mission it embarked on.

“We wonder when this blame game would end. We do not need an expert to tell us that the problem of the PDP in Plateau state has to do with the ego trip embarked upon by two war horses, both who have stubbornly stick to their guns as to who should control the party machinery in the state. ”

Namang alleged that the PDP titans were totally allergic to democratic tenets and norms.

He described Governor Simon Lalong, a true leader who posses impeccable democratic credentials should be left out of the PDP singsong of having a hand in its crises.

“To be sure, the APC in Plateau state is not happy that the PDP in the state has irredeemably failed to put its house in order.”

According to Plateau APC spokesman “This tragic failure by the PDP has robbed the APC of a vibrant and credible opposition which we are in dear need of. Our party will sigh with great relief the day the PDP can put its house in order to effectively play its opposition role in many years ahead.” Namang stressed.

He accused the PDP in the state of employing the services of star gazers to predict its failure, but APC had a peaceful state Congress which produced new state executives of the party.

According to Namang,. the party congresses, right from the ward, local government and state levels went on seamlessly and are adjudged as one of the most transparent in the whole country.

“The state Congress held at the popular Crest Hotel on Saturday was witnessed by a great number of INEC officials from the state and national headquarters and conducted by ten officials from the National headquarters of the APC had in attendance Governor Simon Lalong, his Deputy, Professor Sonni Gwanle Tyoden, the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Idris Maje Wase, one of the two APC Senators in the state, Senator Hezekiah Dimka with apology from Senator Nora Daduut who was out the country on national assignment, Hon. Yusufu Gagdi and all the statutory and state delegates in attendance.”

Namang alleged that the PDP which had hoped for a botched APC state Congress were dazed by the huge successes recorded.

He querried PDP’s support for a renegade and perpetual trouble maker, Ishaya Itse who has become an irritant to the APC based on his antecedents which is not going to help its case.

“The claim of a factional secretariat which began with the hoisting of flags in one obscure corner at Angwan Rogo by the attention seeking Itse and his tiny group of six members, who are well known moles and political merchants is dead on arrival.

He accused Itse and corhots of surreptitiously raising a few flags without the knowledge of the owner of Kalwa House who happens to be the Chairman of the APC Elders Forum in Plateau state before they were chased out of the premises when the Kalwa management attention was drawn to the mischievous development.

“Ishaya Itse who allowed himself to be a willing tool of the opposition and a few disgruntled elements in the APC who had out of greed shot themselves in the foot, has been put to where he rightly belongs.

” He has been suspended by his Jos Jarawa Ward of Jos North over anti – party activities.
Let it be stated in no uncertain terms that the APC in Plateau state is too advanced for a dead political horse to impose a dummy factional leadership for it.”

According to Namang, the new APC on the Plateau would not be distracted by any group as its leadership would be focused and determined in repositioning the party towards inclusivity in order to maintain its winning streak in future elections.

According to him, the new APC Party leadership on the Plateau will continuously support Governor Laly and leader of the Rescue Mission on the Plateau to take the state out of the hands of maximum leaders or dictators who brook no opposition when they were on the saddle.

“The days of anti-people policies in Plateau state remain dead and buried since 2014 and should not be allowed to resurface under any guise. Namang stressed.
