Capacity Building training held for Teachers, Guidance and Counsellors Of Basic education Schools in North Central States in Jos.

Three days capacity building/training Basic session for teachers, Guidance and councilors from basic education schools in the North Central States of Nigeria has been organised in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The training program was organized by SDGs/ National Teachers Institute, NTI.

It has in attendance Head Teachers, Health Teachers, Guidance and Counselors from Islamic and Christian Religious Teachers In Basic Education Schools from all the 7 states that make up the North Central zone.

The training session had a theme, ” Quality Teachers, Healthy Nation” .

Speaking at the event that was held at the Bishop Court, Pastoral Center Jos, the board member of faith based HIV initiative/ core facilitator North Central zone of the training program, Dr. Mrs. Rhoda Udanyi said that the aim of the programme is to address societal ills from the morality point of view especially in areas of the scourge of HIV/Aids and Covid – 19 pendamic.

According to her, the programme provide them opportunities to talk to the participants on the dangers of having sex outside marriage among other issues.

She further stressed on the need for participants to use the knowledge acquired during the training to better the lots of the society at large.

Also speaking at the event, zonal administrative officer, Cecilia Peter expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation exhibited by participants and encouraged the sponsors to release more funds to enable them reach out to the larger society.

Some of the participants, Comfort N. Kumzwam, Hauwa Judril, Baba yemi and the NTI Coordinator, Plateau State, Suleiman Musa, all expressed joy over the opportunities provided them to acquire fresh knowledge and promised to judiciously use it to better the lots of the society .

2023: Tarabans Woo Gov.Arc Dairus Ishaku to Run for the Senate.

Taraba state Governor, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku in his quest to reduce the rate of unemployment and to tackle youths restiveness in his state, has given out employment letters to 28 youths in the state.

This Governor Ishaku did this week after meeting with the third class Chiefs in the southern zone of his state including women and youths who came to pay him Christmas homage in his home town,Takum .

They called on Governor Ishaku to contest for Senate come 2023 to represent them at the national Assembly.

During the the stake holders meeting with the Govenor,, the Chief of Stukundi Chiefdom,Chief Agbu Awudu who spoke on behalf of his colleagues ,said Ishaku is the most qualified person to represent them in the Senate come 2023 as a result of
his antecedents in the state as a Governor for eight years.

Speaking earlier,the state PDP chairman colonel. Agbu Kefas RTD who led the delegation, said governor Ishaku had justified the mandate given to him by Taraba within the period of his 8 years tenure by transforming Taraba state to what it has becomenow.

According to him, Jalingo the state capital now wears a new look hence the need to compensate Governor Ishaku with Senate position to enable him attract Federal Government presence to the state.

In his response,the Govenor Ishakuwho was visibly overwhelmed with joy, appreciated them for choosing him to still be their senator in 2023.

Governor Ishaku assured them that he was determined to serve his people in any capacity with all sense of commitment and dedication.

His words “I am here for all of of you,each time you call me to represent you at any level, I am ever ready even though it’s tasking and demanding i have no choice but to answer your call because of three reasons;

1, You wanted a political father which you wanted me to be.

2 For me to remain relevant and the only way to maintain that is to remain in politics.

3 ,For you to reward me for performing well as your Governor.
this three reasons actually convinced me to answer your call to contest for Senate come 2023″

He added,”I work my talk ,I don’t say what I can’t do because Taraba is a state that is blessed endowed natural resources” Governor Ishaku.

Senator Dimka charge Plateau Central Constituents to Show Love,Peace and Thanksgiving to God at Christmas.

Senator Hezekiah Dimka has joined the People of Plateau central and body of Christ in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day.

Senator Dimka in a statement in Jos to mark this year’s Christmas celebration and made available to Oracle Reporters, urged his Constituents to join him to appreciate God for enabling them to enter the season of love, togetherness and of sharing.

According to him, God has been merciful to them despite all the circumstances that the country has gone through.

” God has given us cause to be grateful, even through uncountable blessings.” Dimka stressed.

He urged his Constituents to have faith in the hope that our tomorrow will be kept alive.

Dimka assured his people that his Project HOPE ALIVE will be alive to its responsibility, which is intended to give Plateau State a mutually assured future; while building on the past for a greater Commonwealth.

The Management team of Shoprite on Friday visited Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong at the Government House, Rayfield Jos to discuss plans for establishing the first outlet in the State.

Leading the team to the Government House, Chairman of Retail Supermarket Nigeria group, Mr. Tayo Amusan said they were in Plateau State as part of the plans for its rollout in 2022 which will see them developing the Jos City Mall that will house Shoprite and other businesses.

He said the group is attracted by the huge potentials of Plateau State in terms of agricultural products, serene environment, huge market and opportunities for growth.

Plateau State he said is a natural attraction for tourists and visitors who need shopping and recreational facilities that the organisation is capable of providing in the planned roll out. Apart from Shoprite, there will be other facilities of the Jara brand to be rolled out.

He appreciated Governor Lalong for his determination and keen interest in facilitating the coming of the business conglomerate to Plateau State, assuring that they will take advantage of the favourable business environment currently obtainable in the State to make sure that the plan succeeds.

Governor Lalong in his response, said he was delighted with the visit of the group which was long overdue because Plateau State is a business destination and a home for all Nigerians and foreigners.

He said his administration has done a lot to restore peace and security which has attracted more investors into the State and removed fear of the past.

He informed the group that there is more access for export and import into the State with the approval for the upgrading of the Yakubu Gowon Airport Heipang into an international cargo airport.

Governor Lalong also disclosed that Plateau State had acquired the Inland Container Depot in Heipang which will also serve as the hub for the Nigerian Shippers Council operations.

The company later signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the possible use of the old Nitel building which has been acquired by the Plateau Investment and Property Development Company for the development of the proposed facility.

Plateau APC Chairman Hon Bature Warns PDP Against Stereotyping the Ruling All Progressive Congress.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman in Plateau State, Hon. Rufus Bature has warned the main opposition party against stereotyping the All Progressives Congress.

Hon. Bature gave the warning at his party’s Secretariat in Jos while receiving in audience Dr Patrick Dakum, one of the gubernatorial aspirants under the APC, who paid him a courtesy call at the party’s secretariat.

According to the Chairman, the APC is a party for all Nigerians and no amount of name calling or profiling would change the narrative.

In his words, “APC is a national party for all Nigerians including Plateau state and no one can reverse that fact”.

He dismissed the continuous blackmail by the PDP in the state that the APC is a party for adherence of a particular religion which is a cheap and dangerous propaganda.

According to Hon. Rufus Bature, what the people of Plateau state needed most is the delivery of the dividends of democracy and uniting them which governor Lalong is doing, but being distracted by agents of disunity.

Hon Bature decried the continuous lamentation by nay sayers who have refused to see anything good in whatever governor Lalong is doing for the people of Plateau state.

According to him , while APC strongly believes in constructive criticism which is healthy for the growth of democracy, we must respect our leaders who are entrusted with the responsibility to rule by God.

According to Bature, when you are not on the seat, it is easy to criticise but w

e must be careful not to equate lies with the truth.

Bature reiterated the party’s position of working earnestly towards installing an APC government back to back to break the jinx of the ruling party not installing successor from the same party on the Plateau.

He emphasised his commitment to discipline and inclusiveness in running the affairs of the party in the state.

While welcoming the APC gubernatorial aspirant to the party’s secretariat, he revealed that Dr Patrick Dakum was the first to pay such visit amongst all the aspirants under the party’s banner.

He assured him that the party is going to provide a level playing field for all the gubernatorial aspirants under the APC.

In his speech, Dr Patrick Dakum who came with a large number of supporters which kept the party’s secretariat agog, said the purpose of his visit was to pay homage and congratulate the party exco over their well deserved election.

The gubernatorial aspirant said he strongly believes in the visibility of the party which must penetrate all the nooks and crannies of the state.

Dr Patrick Dakum frowned at the attitude of some disgruntled members of the party who have been deceiving and cajoling our members to decamp to other parties which he advised was not in their interest as it is counter productive.

According to him, the APC remains a safer place for us though we can disagree to agree on issues as members of one family.

Dr Dakum revealed that his Consolidation Team has embarked on an aggressive recruitment of membership and receiving decampees from other parties in the state.

The Gubernatorial aspirant called for support to governor Simon Lalong and decried the situation where some members of the party are among those condemning him.

According to Dr Dakum,governor Lalong has done a lot for Plateau state which includes among others, the Peace Building Agency, the novel Lalong Legacy Projects, agricultural revolution and provision of conducive atmosphere for businesses to thrive.

The aspirant explained that his consolidation agenda is aimed at copying all the best practices by previous administrations in the state to build upon.

Dr Dakum donated flags for the parry offices in all the local Government Areas of Plateau state with a promise to work very closely with the party to win the 2023 elections regardless of whether he eventually emerges as the party’s candidate or not.

Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defense Senator Istifanus Gyang Empowers over 400 Constituents with Solar Power Training and Financial Assistance of N30,000 each.

Senator ID Gyang Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Defence Senator Instifanus D Gyang has Organised one day solar Power training for over 400 constituents in his Senatotrial district and supported them with N30,000 financial assistance each for all the participants at the training.

Senator Gyang said at the event that he would not allow poverty and darkness to overwhelm the people of his Plateau North Senatorial district.

He explained that the training which would be undertaken by National Centre for Hydropower Research and Development, Energy Commission of Nigeria, University of Ilorin will train the youths to repair and maintained Solar Power light installed to fight insecurity in rural communities.

“The poverty index of Nigeria as a poverty capital of the world has to change. It has to change by the impact of not just government but the corporate bodies, the private sector and our capacities as representatives of the people.

“This is why I have taken series of empowerment programmes consecutively in November and December 2021 to put seed in the hands of our youths so that they can invest to start a trade and to talk to our youths so that they can be more resourceful.

According to him, youths need to deploy their abilities and capacities to take advantage of opportunities and possibilities that are abound in our nation.

Senator Gyang expressed his determination to reach out to every youths in Plateau North with a seed even though that might not be possible due to scarce resources.

“The much that I desire to do, I wish I can empower every citizen of Plateau North but this is these much that is in my hands; we will continue to take on this and encourage our people to do what they can do and to do it well.

“To take advantage of every opportunity, take advantage of what is available and when you use the available, God will make the impossible possible. That is what this empowerment is all about.

“The target group for today is the youths and this is the most vulnerable group that poverty is attacking. We cannot leave our youths to become captives of poverty, captives of the devil and captives of darkness; as long as I am here we will invade darkness with light.”

Former Chief of Staff, Government House Jos, Da. Francis Bot lauded the Sen. Gyang for changing the poverty line of youths in his constituency and urged them to take advantage of the seed in their hands to start a business.

He urged them not to spend the money given to them for Christmas celebration but use it to come up with a means of livelihood.

State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Plateau State, Chris Hassan said the party has commenced consultation with critical stakeholders with a view to take over power in 2023.

He lamented that the APC government at the national and state levels has remained insensitive to the plight of citizens which has encouraged the poverty index in the country.

Rev Pam in a message delivered at the annual Imo Thanksgiving Day Unto the Lord and Carol of 9 Lessons, enjoyed Imolites to live a life of dedication to the Lord.

The event which was held at the Rear Admr Ndubuisi Kanu Square,
former Heroes Square, Concorde Avenue, Owerri, Imo State brought in Imolites from all walks of life including Senators, Members of the House of Representatives, Captains of Industries, Business tycoons, academia and friends of Imo State together.

This year’s event coincided with the birthday of the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma had a theme: Jesus The Prince Of Peace.

Rev Pam called for unity among the people of Imo, suing for peace and support to the administration of Governor Uzodinma as a way of fulfilling their religious obligations as contained in Romans 13:1 where Christians are called upon to pray for those in authority.

He described the large crowd that came out to attend the programme a pointer that “Imo State will continue to flourish in peace.

Plateau PDP Chairman Chris Hassan Hails Senator ID Gyang For Empowering Plateau North Constituents.

Jos Plateau state Chairman of the Peoples Democractic Party Chris Hassan has commended Senator representing Plateau North at National Assembly for packaging several empowerment Schemes for his Constituents of Plateau North Senatorial district.

Hassan in an interview with Oracle Reporters in Jos at the weekend, said Senator Gyang should be Commended for empowering about 630 farmers with training and startup funds for post-seasonal farming and agro-produce marketing skill and at the same time within one month, empowered 500 widows with funds to boost their small businesses.

Hassan equally Commended the Vice Chairman Senate committee on Defence Senator ID Gyang for giving scholarship to over 600 students in his constituency.

It would be recalled that only recently Senator Gyang at Mee’s Palace in Rayfield beseeched students from Plateau North to take advantage of their youthfulness to study hard and through their choice of lifestyle, sow seeds that will guarantee a bright future for them

Gyang told his audience that “there is no day or time that I will ever keep quiet on the floor of the Senate on issues that are critical to Plateau State or this nation at large”

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday at the dedication of Ten commandments Prayer Altar in Doi, district of Jos South LGA,urged Nigerians to do things that will promote the kingdom of God and to assist or help humanity.

Jonathan a guest of honor at the dedication of the Ten commandments Altar built by President Yeshua Kingdom international Senator Jonah David Jang, former Governor of Plateau state, said irrespective of the political office anyone holds,
or status in the society, the best legacy one can leave is to establish an edifice or altar of Prayer where people can come and fellowship and as well worship their creator just as that of the Ten Commandments .

He commended Senator Jang for the vision to build the facility stressing that Senator Jang is following the footprint’s of former Head of state General Yakubu Gowon who
fought the Nigerian civil war,but now drop his gun to carry the Bible to reach out to people of Nigeria in humility.

Ealier,Senator Jang is his welcome address at the event, said he has been praying and asking God for a time like this when the body of Christ will come together in unity and one accord to offer prayers of dedication and consecration unto God.

Invest More On The Plateau, Lalong Charges Jos Business Community.

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has assured the business community in the State and the country that his administration will continue to pursue inclusivity, peace and security, as well as Infrastructural development which are key to guaranteeing investment in the State.

Governor Lalong stated this when he hosted the 5th Governor’s dinner with the business community in Plateau State at the new Government House, Little Rayfield Jos.

He said among other things, Government wasted no time in looking at some of the areas of concern to the business community by pursuing policies and reforms in the areas of taxation, access to finance for MSMEs, business registration, Public Private Partnership, retraining of workers, and land administration and so on.

“So far we have witnessed substantial improvements to the delight of the private sector, while paying attention on the key enablers of Peace, Security, and Good Governance; Infrastructural Development; and Sustainable Economic Rebirth.

This year’s dialogue therefore, presents the government and private sector another opportunity to compare notes, and exchange ideas on these and other matters of mutual interest” he said.

According to him, to further improve economic activities in the State, his administration prioritized diversification of the economy, with the stated goals of building a competitive manufacturing sector, expanding agricultural output, and capitalizing on technological and innovative advantages.

Some highlights of reforms and policies carried out in line with the three pillar policy thrust to drive sustainable development, increase IGR and enhance the general business environment in the State include: Land reform, Tax Relief Measures, Establishment of the PPP Agency , Partnership with Agriculture Research Institution of Nigeria (ARCN) to boost farmers production capacity, Revitalized Judicial system, Expansion of physical infrastructure, Establishment of the Plateau State One Stop Investment Centre to facilitate investment and also provide ease of doing business in the State, Street naming and house numbering among others.

Head of Component, Policywork Stream, GIZ-SEDIN commended Governor Lalong for paying attention to the business community in the State and providing the needed climate for investment.

He urged the Government to do more and work towards addressing other challenges that still make it difficult for some businesses to improve and get stability.

Some members of the Plateau business community and heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies also made contributions at the dinner urging the government to consolidate on the substantial peace prevailing in the State.

The 5th executive Governors Business enabling environment dialogue/Dinner was organised by PMRD in collaboration with PIPC and Plateau Micro finance development Agency and supported by Pro-poor and promotion of employment in Nigeria-SEDIN Program.
