2023: Plateau Group Charges APC Delegates to Massively Cast their Votes for VP Osibanjo during forth Presidential Primaries.

A Political pressure group” Plateau yearns for Osinbanjo 2023′ has called on APC delegates to cast their Votes for VP Osibanjo at the forth coming presidential Primaries of All Progresive Congress.

Convener of the group Bishop Jonas katung made this appeal at media interaction in Jos during which he described the vice President as someone who served his principal meritoriously without any blemish for the past seven years.

According to him VP Osinbanjo is knowledgeable, intellectual experienced, loyal and someone who has been groomed over the years not only because of his brilliance but his desire to see positive change is second to none .

He added that most people comes around because they want to get something either to get more wealthy, use the position to get more properties as it has been the attitude of most of them but that the desire of the VP is just to serve the people of Nigeria
and to put things correctly in the polity .
Bishop katung is the founder of The Living Stone Assembly International further stressed that most of educated Nigerians and uneducated believes that if given the opportunity Osinbanjo will not only bring the people together but will touch many lives positively than what previous Nigerian leaders have done in the past .

He said as VP Osinbanjo when he was given opportunity to serve as acting president of the country while his principal, president mohammadu Buhari was away abroad for medical treatment, Osinbanjo was able to manage the troubles and challenges at that time in a matured manner as Buhari gave him a free hand to run the business of governance of the country .

Katung said ” Osinbanjo took many decisions and made appointments that were hailed by Nigerians especially on the confirmation of the appointment of former chief judge of the federation who was serving in acting capacity before his confirmation was made by Osibanjo”

He added that Nigerians needs a leader that is decisive in taking action when the need arises devoid of religion and ethnicity.

Katung said Osinbanjo acceptance cut across the country when he formally declared his intension to run for the 2023 presidential race.

Jos Chapter of the Nigerian Mining And Geosciences Society Set to Revive, Revamp And Repositioned Jos Chapter through Consultation with Stakeholders.

Nigerian mining and Geosciences society Plateau state chapter has put in motion plans to revive, revamp and reposition its chapter through consultations, interactions, engagements and involvement of all the stake holders to move the society forward.

The newly Elected Chairman of the Nigerian mining and geosciences society Jos chapter Dr Raymond Ishaya Daspan stated this during his investiture as the seventh NMGS chairman Jos chapter .

According to him, the society will encourage and build strong synergy between the chapter and the various stake holders and sister professional bodies.

He added that plans are on ground to pursue aggressive membership drive to ensure that registrable graduates are registered while that of COMEG registrable are encouraged to do so.

He added that the new leadership of mining and geosciences society Jos chapter is to host sponsored television program tag “geosciences and you” or “geosciences and society” and quiz competition among polytechnics and universities running geoscience and mining undergraduate courses

Similarly Daspan said his organization will institute prices for the best graduating student on geology and mining engineering to promote academic excellence and as well promote proper ethical conduct among its members through education and imposition of sanctions on erring members .

He also disclosed that Jos chapter of Nigerian mining and geosciences society will work with the national body of the society to restore the lost glory of the secretariat now referred to as the NMGS national museum and Iiaison Office so that it can be put in it’s proper and profitable use.

2022 Nzem Berom: Jos Monarch Da Jacob Gyang Buba Charges Politicians not to Heat up the Polity ahead of 2023.

The Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba has appealed to politicians not to unnecessary tension that may worsen security to lives and property of the people of Plateau and the rest of Nigeria ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Da. Buba disclosed this during the 2022 Nzem Berom annual cultural festival held at Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos .

The festival had a theme, “Celebrating the Berom in Politics.

According to Gbong Gwom Jos,”The whole nation today is in a frenzy with heightened political activities and movements as the reality of the 2023 general elections draws nearer. This frenzy comes with the unrealistic political promises and gimmicks that are used to lure the very impoverished voters, whose votes may at the end of the day not even count.

“May we at this point plead with the political class to water down the undue and in fact unnecessary tension and the worsening insecurity that comes with the advent of elections.

“We also wish to remind government at all levels and fellow traditional rulers that at the end of it all, we shall give account of our stewardship to the Creator of the universe, whom we all claim to worship.”

The Jos monarch reminded the Federal and State Governments that most Berom people and people from different parts of the state who were displaced as a result of insecurity are yet to return to their ancestral homes.

“May I use this opportunity to remind the Federal Government and the Inspector-General Police of their promise to set up a Mobile Base in Gashish District of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau, as this is yet to be actualized.

“The displaced natives of this district cannot go back to their ancestral lands to pursue their agrarian vocation, raise and train their children since the security threats still exist in the area. We plead for reconsideration of this promise.”

Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong in an address at the event,urged the Beroms to participate in political discourse in Plateau and mobilize the citizens to actively participate in politics.

He urged the elders to teach the younger generation politics of service anchored on the right values emanating from the cultures and tradition that foster honesty, accountability, tolerance, love and service to humanity.

“I appeal to the Berom nation and indeed the entire socio-cultural groups in Plateau State to do all within their power to ensure that there is no room for criminals who apart from causing havoc and destruction, seek to sow the seeds of hatred and division among the people.

” As diverse as the 53 ethnic groups in Plateau State may be, we have a long standing reputation for love, hospitality, harmony and tolerance.”

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha represented by Prof. Danladi Atu, Secretary to Government of Plateau State said Nzem Berom is an annual cultural festival that unify the Berom and Plateau people.

He encouraged the people to continue to uphold their cultural heritage for the unity and prosperous of Nigeria.

Yohana Margif receives LP nomination form as Sole Governorship Candidate for Plateau.

Business Mogul and Philanthropist Chief Ambassador Yohana Margif has
accepted the Labour Party expression of interest form as the sole Governorship Candidate of the Party ahead of the 2023 election.

The development came barely three Days after Margif withdrew from the Governorship race under the ruling All Progressive Congress APC and equally Dumps the party.

Margif, who accepted the nomination form at a brief reception hosted by the National Chairman of the Labour Party Barr. Julius Abure, in Abuja on Friday, called on the party to forge the trust on him as their new symbol of unity, growth on the Plateau

According to Margif, a lot is still needed to be done in order to restore the lost Glory of Plateau, adding that many citizens are still outside hungry, unemployed and many more threatened by unwarranted and unnecessary security and economic challenges.

The Technical Committee, of the Atiku support group has denied denied report by a section of the media, notably some bloggers, who reported that newsmen were prevented from covering former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar’s consultations
with delegates from Plateau state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Leader of the technical committee saddled with the realisation of Vice President Atiku Abubakar ‘s 2023 Presidential Aspiration , Raymond Dokpesi, in a statement issued and made available to Oracle Reporters in Jos,stated that the Frontline PDP Presidential Aspirant could not have directed that the media be shut out of the event due to the respect he has for the media and its role.

Dokpesi, stressed that what occurred was that on arrival at the Plateau state PDP secretariat in Jos where the former Vice President was to meet with delegates as part of his consultation ahead of the May 28th PDP National convention, it was obvious that Journalists already seated in the hall outnumbered the delegates whom he was in the state to meet, resulting in the party members being left standing outside the hall.

As a result of this, the presidential aspirant pleaded that the media excuse the meeting, and return for interviews after the consultation.

The chairman of the Technical committee while appreciating journalists also cautioned against false narratives, and what he called deliberate moves today blackmail the person of Atiku Abubakar, must be discountenanced by the public.Chief Dokpesi appealed.

The Former Vice president Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has Charged Nigerians to put an end to administration of All Progresive Congress in 2023, warning that allowing APC to continue in power in the next dispensation will bring Nigeria down to it’s knees.

Atiku stated this while addressing his party delegates in Jos on Monday at PDP Secretariat.

According to him, stealing of public funds will stop if he is voted into power in 2023.

He said that the recless stealing of public funds has adversely affected the economy of the nation.

He said, “One of the adverse effects of unbridled corruption going on in the country has resulted in the lingering strikes in the educational system especially protracted ASUU strike resulting poor funding of education.

He said, “If elected as president, I will reform the educational sector to make it in such a way it will recieve adequate funding and lecturers will have no reason to go on strike.

“I want to thank Plateau delegates for their unflinching support in 2019, with your support I won in 2019 but the mandate you gave was taken away. Let’s do it again in 2023”

Atiku explained that, “here we are again for another round of election, it is important that PDP should get a winning candidate, I therefore urge delegates to make me that winning candidate at the party convention.

“We have been in opposition for the past eight years, can we remain in opposition again? we cannot afford to be in opposition in 2023. We must get right from the choice of candidate and return the party to governance once again.

Atiku also assured Plateau delegates that he will revive the already battered economy so as to restore confidence in the private and public sector.

He also promised to stop killings and insurgency and restore security all over the country.

In his remarks, state Chairman of PDP Chris Hassan assured the aspirants that the party will not let him down at the national convention of the party.

LTD and NASZAT IDEAL CONCEPT on Wednesday,11 May 2022, the management of the affected organisations have cleared the air on the actions of workers of the Company which haven engaged the media during the recent protest during which their employees presented misleading statements about its client – Grand Cereals Limited.

Managing Directors of the Companies Geoffrey Pam and Hamza Ali in a press Statement issued to Newsmen in Jos at the weekend, said it has become evident that the workers engaged in the protests are their employees of Naszat Ideal Concept and PAMAY Investment Nigeria Limited which serve as technical Labour Provider for Grand Cereals Limited as purported protesting workers.

,,” We jointly debunk all allegations labelled against our client grand Cereal limited .'”

The protesters were said to be disturbed over non increment in wages, poor health care among other issues.

The management of the affected companies assured that efforts was been put in place to ensure their demands of the workers are met .

The Management of the affected companies apologized to Grand Cereal limited for the embarrassment the protest might have Caused them.

2023: Plateau APC Alllays Fears Of Equity And Justice Forum On Imposition of APC Gubernatorial Candidate.

The APC leadership in Plateau state has allayed the fears of the Equity and Forum that there is no plan or contemplation by Governor Simon Bako Lalong or the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Plateau State to impose any aspirant on the party.

The Spokesman of All Progresive Congress in Plateau state Sylvanus Namang in a statement in Jos on Sunday made available to newsmen, said Governor of Plateau State as a seasoned politician and accomplished democrat has not told the party or anyone to the best knowledge of the party that he has a preferred aspirant amongst the 10 aspirants who at the close of sale of forms had purchased the expression of intention and nomination forms to contest the forthcoming gubernatorial primary election in the state.

According to Namang ” What the party is aware of is that out of his concern and desire for the party to win the forthcoming gubernatorial election, he had at the recent stakeholders meeting of the party at the Government House, Little Rayfield appealed to the governorship aspirants to make all efforts to reduce the number by agreeing amongst themselves as only one aspirant would become a candidate in the end.”

” He clearly stated that he had no preferred aspirant and even sited instances where some aspirants, some whom he had not even come in contact with of name dropping which he frowned at.”

He added that his eyes and ears are on ground to ensure that the process of electing candidates across board are transparent, fair and equitable.

He added the party leadership in the state recently invited all the aspirants to a meeting at the Kalwa House party secretariat where the Governor’s appeal was reiterated.

” The Chairman of the party in the state, Honourable Rufus Bature appointed a Cordinator amongst the aspirants in the person of Chief Amos Gizo which they all agreed would serve as a link between them and the party.”

According to Namang” It is based on the strength and weight of the appeals that only 10 out of the 19 aspirants bought the forms to contest.

” For the avoidance of doubt the APC in the state would want to allay the fears of our most respected elders particularly the Chairman and Co- Chairman of the Equity and Justice Forum, Barrister Umar Shittien and Chief S. D. Makama both who the governor and the party hold in very high esteem that there is no plan to impose any aspirant on the party as a preferred candidate.”

He reiterated that APC in the state wishes to restate its assurances and commitment of providing a level playing ground for all the the gubernatorial aspirants and aspirants at all levels.

He added that the party is interested in producing the best, credible and acceptable candidates who would give it victory to break the jinx of not producing a successor since 2007.

” Our esteemed elders who have unfettered access to the Governor or the party Chairman should exploit these avenues for clarification and proferring of advice and solutions where necessary.
The APC in the state advises in strong terms our most valued members, especially our distinguished aspirants not to overheat the intra party polity and concentrate on the task ensuring the emergence of electable candidates for the 2023 general elections. ”

TEKAN calls for Justice, condemns gruesome murder of Christian Student in Sokoto

The Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Nigeria, known in Hausa language as Tarayyar Ekklesiyoyin Kristi a Nijeria (TEKAN) Comprises of over 15 denominations in the Northern States has described shocking and terrible tragic the gruesome murder of Ms Deborah Samuel, a 200 Level home economics student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto for allegedly committing a blasphemy.

TEKAN in a Press Statement signed and issued on Sunday in Jos by the TEKAN President Rev. Caleb S. Ahima and General Secretary Very Rev. Moses J. Ebuga said the irreligious dastardly act must not be tolerated at all.

“TEKAN Executive Council during its meeting at the Headquarters on 12th May, 2022, received with rude shock the terribly tragic event of the gruesome murder of Ms Deborah Samuel , a 200 Level home economics student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education, sokoto for allegedly committing a blasphemy.

“We condemn this inhuman act in totality and in the strongest terms possible. We call on the Nigeria Authorities to act decisively to bring those who committed this criminal act to face the full wrath of the law regardless of whoever is involved.

“This irreligious dastardly act must not be tolerated at all. Recalling past incidents where those who committed similar criminal acts go free, TEKAN calls upon the expects the security agencies and the Federal Government to do the needful to ensure justice is done. The perpetrators should be dealt with to serve as deterrent for future occurrence.
