Plateau 2023: 43,857 APC members From Plateau Central Defects to PDP At Zonal Rally In Pankshin LGA.

As the 2023 general elections draws close by the day, 43,857 members of the APC from Central Senatorial district have defected to the Peoples Democratic party at the Zonal Càmpaign rally held at Pankshin LGA of the state.

The state chairman of the party, Hon. Chris Hassan who received the decampees at the Atiku/Mutfwang campaign flag off rally for Plateau central Senatorial district Headquarters in Pankshin town, assured the decampes that the party will carry them along in all its activities before and after the elections .

Hassan said the decampees have seen the light and have joined the winning party on the Plateau adding that they were entitled to begin to enjoy all the privileges in the party .

According to him, they have been receiving decampees from Southern zone to the Northern Senatorial district of the state and this Saturday, thousands of decampees were received at Plateau central Zonal Càmpaign rally.

Hassan handed the party candidates the party flags as symbol of authority given to them to move into the election season to canvas for votes in their Constituencies.

He urged the Plateau people to reject APC in the forth election and vote PDP 5/5 to unify and rebuild Plateau and Nigeria.

Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Jonah Jang on his part charged the people of Plateau to vote the party candidates at the forth coming general elections on the Plateau, saying the state has always voted for PDP since 1999 till date.

He note that the state made a mistake for voting APC into power in 2015 which led to the current hardship and agony but assured that Mutfwang if voted into power, will keep to his campaign promises to I people.

Senator Jang added that with the huge turn out of Plateau people to PDP rally in Plateau Central this Saturday, he believed that the former National Chairman of the party, Chief Solomon Lar would be happy in his grave.

He hinted that Plateau people are known for supporting PDP and urged them to deliver all PDP candidates in the forth coming general elections.

The Governorship candidatebof the party in the state Barr Caleb Mutfwang admonished Plateau people of his Senatorial district to get their PVCs ready to exercise their franchise at the February and March general elections .

“Don’t allow anybody to deceive you, get your PVCs and resist the pressure of APC from buying your votes. I assure you that both women and the youths will be given adequate attention when we get into government.” He stressed.

He prayed for a peaceful election and urged the people to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during and after the election.

On his part, the party’s Senatorial candidate for Plateau central Senatorial district Amb Gokana Gotom who responded on behalf of the contestants at the forth coming general election from Plateau central, said they would not take the opportunity given to fly the party’s tickets at the general election for granted.

He urged their Supporters to vote for all PDP candidates from top to bottom.

2023: CBBN Holds Women National Summit In Jos On Role Of Women In 2023 General Elections.

The Coation For Better and Brighter Nigeria has organised Women has organised a two days National Summit for 450 Women Leaders from across the states of the federation on how to raise funding for women contesting for elections in the 2023 general elections.

The National Women leader of the Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigeria, Amb. Victoria F Lot in her welcoming address at the CBBN Summit currently taking place at EBOMI Suites And Towers in Jos Tin City, said the summit is meant to train the women leaders of political parties and groups on funds raising and mobilisation of women to support fellow Women contesting elections in the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.

Amb. Lot noted that the women were also being trained on how to use electronic technology Bvas in voting for candidates of their choice during February and March elections.

Amb Lot also disclosed that 120 women groups across the states sent in representatives totalling 450 Women that are participating in the 2 days CBBN Women summit.

She Commended the national leader of CBBN Prophet Isa El-Buba for accommodating summit participants at EBOMI Suites and Towers for the two days women summit.


She added that after the training, those trained are expected to go straight into the grassroots and start mobilisation of women for the forth coming general elections

Guest speaker at the summit Jennifer Sandra Chikan who presented a paper on funding for Women in election,said even though few women would be contesting the 2023 general elections in the country, women voters should rally round their be own to be voted into elective offices across the country.

She encouraged women to raise funding to support those ones running for elective positions to get into elective offices in government.

According to her, Women are the only ones that can adquately and articulately solve the problems of women.

The Convener and President of Initiative for Better And Brighter Nigeria (IBBN) and Coalition for a Better And Brighter Nigeria (CBBN) Prophet Isa El-Buba Sadiq has called on Nigerian voters to team behind the Presidential Candidate of Labor party Peter Obi to realize his ambition of becoming the next President of Nigeria .

The Convener of IBBN and CBBN El-Buba who made this call at a Press Conference held in Jos at EBOMI Towers on Tuesday, said having done an assessment of the leading Presidential candidates, he has come to a realization that Peter Obi is a better manager of resources than the rest of them.

According to him, as Nigerians got into 2023 they discovered that their country is in a weak and unproductive state, terrorized and pauperized, with poor human development indicators to say the least, saying Labor party Presidential candidate has what it takes to take Nigeria out of the woods.

El-Buba stated that the poor state of the economy at the moment is an indication that the nation is at a threshold with a terrible present and a future that could be worse if not rescued .

According to him, ” The challenges we had with past governments weren’t of this magnitude, yet Nigerians seemed overly critical of them but the ineptitude of the current government has rendered Nigerians rather disoriented.
Perhaps, this is how life teaches the difference between the good, the bad and the ugly” El-Buba stressed.

He added that hopefully, “so we may appreciate the good when next we see it.”

El-Buba added that in the next few weeks, Nigeria will hold two very important exercises as . this is the first time in our recent history that Nigeria will be conducting the general elections and a national census in the same year.

He noted that while elections in Nigeria hold every four years, and census is supposed to be conducted at least once in 10 years, the last time the country had a headcount was in 2006, over 16 years ago.

He added that these two exercise, if well carried out, he believed , could put the nation on a trajectory of national development and reunification, but expressed fear that if mismanaged could perpetuate the cycle of Nigeria’s perennial problems .

According to him, 2023 is a watershed year and turning point in the national journey as a people, saying it is a make or mar year.

“We must, therefore, be intentional in our decisions in other to get things right especially in the enlistment of only the most competent, accountable and responsive Leaders into Leadership positions at various levels”.

According to him, there is still hope despite Nigeria Myriads of challenges, saying Nigeria is not beyond redemption.

.”With the Presidential elections in about 40 days, We have a clear choice of the candidate with the sincerity of purpose and clarity of vision to serve Nigeria with love, strength and faith as well as go ahead to implement public policy that will birth a renewed nation, a truly better, brighter and greater Nigeria bound in freedom, prosperity, peace and unity in the candidacy of Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed, of the Labour Party.”

He implored Nigerians to obtain their PVCs, secure it and come out enmasse on the 25th of February to vote for the party that has Papa, Mama and Pikin as it’s logo on the ballot the Labour Party.”

According to him, Nigerians should Vote for the Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed, warning that Nigerians should not mortgage their futures by either sitting on the fence or selling their votes.

“Don’t sit down and look, get personal about and get involved with this election” Prophet El-Buba advised.

He expressed his gladness with the level of Eye opening that Nigerian youths are giving to the coming election, saying. It’s the one good thing that has come out of our current nightmare.

He argued that Irrespective of political affiliations, Nigerians should vote for their conscience, adding that for once, ‘”let’s our votes reflect our earnest yearning in 2023. It is now Operation Save Nigeria with good governance. Let no political party affiliation stand in the way. Let no ethnic or religious sentiments stand in the way.”

He commended Obidients and Peter Obi Datti Baba-Ahmed Support groups across the nation and the diaspora- mostly young people who are tired and have been victims of the status quo for catching the vision for a new Nigeria .

The Plateau State Governorship Candidate of Peoples Democratic party, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has flagged off his Governorship Càmpaigns in Shendam LGA of Plateau State with a call on the people of his state to reject APC in 2023 for inflicting pains, hardship and poverty on the people of his state and the country.

Speaking at the flag off at Shendam mini Stadium on Tuesday, Mutfwang said “If we do not kill APC, APC will kill democracy and if we kill APC in 2023, democracy will survive. We are tied of deceit, bad governance, insecurity and poverty; go and collect your PVCs and vote PDP candidates from top to bottom.”

Mutfwang a Frontline Governorship candidate in Plateau state urged the people of his state to ignore false information being peddle by the APC that PDP will not participate in the next election and described it as untrue, saying the party will participate and win overwhelmedly In the 2023 election.

Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator . Jonah David Jang in his speech at the flag off rally, endorsed the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for the 2023 Governorship election, saying Mutfwang administration will give Plateau people the required leadership.

He noted that no presidential candidate of the PDP has ever lost election in Plateau since 1999 and urged the people to remain committed to PDP as it is the platform that will salvage the state from the current insecurity and economic downturn.

“We are glad that PDP has presented a competent and credible Governorship candidate, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and his Deputy, Ngo Josephine Piyo. I am presenting them to you and all other PDP candidates for the February and March 2023 general elections.

According to Jang,”Plateau people made a mistake in 2015 and we are regretting it because of the hardship, poverty, saying the outgoing government has no legacy to it name. But I am certain that Mutfwang will not disappoint you.

“APC is not a party for Plateau people, we are known with PDP and no presidential candidate of the party has ever lost election since the return of democracy in 1999, we will do what we are known for.” Jang stressed .

Jang, who knelt down and prayed for the success of all PDP candidates, said Plateau has not enjoy dividends of democracy under the APC administration and urged the people to reject the party in the next election.

The State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Chris Hassan who received 17,000 APC members who returned to the PDP in Plateau South assured them of a level playing ground in the party and urged them to work for the victory of all PDP candidates.

Hassan presented party flags to all candidates of the party in Plateau South and admonished them to mobilize massive votes for the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the entire PDP candidates.

Similarly,The Director General Atiku/Mutfwang campaign council, Hon. Latep Dabang said the zonal rally marked the beginning of the end of APC in the state.

He said before February 25, APC would be forgotten completely in Plateau while the people will return to PDP their original home.

Former Nigeria Ambassador to Switzerland, Yahaya Kwande and Ex-Ambassador to Namibia, Bagudu Hirlse both admonished the people to work for the success of the PDP in the next election.

Bagudu said Plateau Central, particularly the Mwaghavul have alway supported candidates from the South since the era of Amb. Fidelis Tapgun and said 2023 is a pay back time for the central zone with Barr. Caleb Mutfwang.

2023:Plateau State Is Indebted to the tune of Over N200 Billion Naira- Plateau PDP Guber Candidate Cries Out .

Plateau state gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) iBarrister Caleb Muftwang, has cried out that his state is currently Indebted to the tune of over N200 billion naira.
 

Speaking with newsmen on Monday in Jos at Media Centre, Muftwang said his PDP-led administration in the state would reform the government processes in order to move the state forward. 
 
“Let me say that, we are not coming in to witch hunt; we will not waste the precious mandate of our people on witch hunt. If there is a tradition of witch hunts in Plateau, we will break it.”
 
According to him, the people of his state should be rest assured that if elected, “we would reform government processes, and if we found out in the course of the reform that certain things had been done wrongly, we would ensure they are blocked and people should be able to correct the mistakes they have made in the past,” he said.
 
The front line gubernatorial candidate on the Plateau pointed out that since the PDP left power over seven years ago, Plateau State has lost its leadership, adding that the party is offering itself this time around to confront the myriad of problems confronting the state head-on.
 
He said, “We are capable and confident in our ability to provide the leadership that they want.” “We are more than ready; we would leave no stone unturned in the quest of achieving this.”
 
 
Barrister Muftwang, who posited that Plateau State is in debt to the tune of N200 billion, said with this debt, it is glaring that it is not going to be a tea party if elected but promised that the party would harness resources on the ground to move the state out of the woods.
 
“We are aware of the state of the Nigerian economy, Plateau inclusive, but this won’t deter us from using available resources to improve the lot of our people.”

Mutfwang stressed that they were going to look inward to be able to reposition our state.

“The leadership will make the environment conducive for investors to come in for genuine investment,” he said.

Workers of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) have rolled out drums to celebrate their Director-General/Chief Executive, Sir Joseph N. Ari, KSM, KSS on his conferment with the Chieftancy title of Kurnajam of Goemai Nation and for emerging as the 2022 Plateau Man of the year.

ITF Director of the Public Affairs Department, Mrs Suleyol Fred Chagu, in a congratulatory message issued to newsmen in Jos at weekend which she made available to Saturday Independent on behalf of the Management and Staff of the Fund, said the recognitions on their Boss Ari, were truly deserved and expected by the totality of the workforce and other people that have worked closely with the DG since he assumed office in the Fund in 2016

.Mrs Chagu said the honours indicated that others outside of the ITF have begun to fully appreciate how the DG has transformed the Organisation from one that was incapable of actualizing its mandate to positively impacting hundreds of thousands of Nigerians with skills for employability and entrepreneurship.

She noted that as the Kurnajam of the Goemai Nation, (the Defender of the Goemai Nation), the DG will bring considerable problem-solving skills to ensure peace and harmony not just in the Goemai Nation but Plateau State in general.

ITF Director of Public Affairs added that the awards which came at the beginning of the year, merely heralded similar awards that will follow and would serve as a buoy and encouragement for the DG, as he strives to ensure that as many Nigerians as possible are equipped in line with the policies and objectives of the Federal Government.

It would be recalled that Sir Ari in the last quarter of 2022, bagged several awards and recognition notably from the Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA), the Leadership Newspaper award for Chief Executive of the Year and Award of Excellence by the Kaduna State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) amongst others.

Pilgrimage: NCPC Act Empowers Us ToExplore Holy Sites In Israel, Jordan/ Rome Etc – Rev Pam .

Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has disclosed that NCPC has been given the powers to explore Holy Sites around the world.

Pam disclosed this on Friday the 6th of January, 2022 at the Victor Attah International Airport UYo, during the airlift of intending pilgrims of Cross River state and Ondo state.

Rev Pam stated that the NCPC Act which established the Commission in 2007, empowers it to explore Holy Sites with good geographical landmarks and biblical references in the world which explains why the Commission has extended its Pilgrimage scope to Rome, Greece, Jordan.

According to him, NCPC is already planning to explore Holy Sites in Turkey as soon as possible.

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for giving NCPC the enabling environment to exercise the powers given to the Commission by its enabling Act.

Pam lauded the two states that were being airlifted from the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, Cross River state and Ondo state for being part of the current Pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan.

He hinted that similar orientation programme being organized at the Victor Attah International Airport, UYo was held in Enugu for the intending pilgrims of Ebonyi State who would join the intending pilgrims of Cross River state and Ondo to make up the third batch of intending pilgrims that would leave the shores of Nigeria tonight to the Holy land of Israel and Jordan.

The NCPC boss applauded the Governors of the South South for their sponsorship of christians to the Holy land especially in recent time.

According to him,” God is using the Governors to advance the Kingdom”.

He explained that this spiritual journey is taking place at the most critical time when the nation is preparing for its general election. His words, ” this is the moment to go and pray”.

He warned the intending pilgrims to shun any tendency to abscond during Pilgrimage as the Commission would stop at nothing to ensure that such absconder is brought to book with the guarantor.

This third batch of intending pilgrims are made up of Cross River, Ondo and Ebonyi State contingent.

It would be recalled that the Commission commenced the December 2022 Pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan on 16th December, 2022 in Enugu State.

A renowned Plateau based business man and Philanthropist Baba Mathew Olaleye Children have donated relief materials to both Christian and Muslim women in Gana-Ropp community worth huge sums of money in Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Presenting the items on behalf of the family to the Chief Imam of Gana-Ropp Central Mosque, Sheikh Haruna Baba Hadaijah (Malam Ladan), the eldest son of Baba Matthew , Dr. Daniel Mathew , said they were at the community to support the aged women in their little way and also renew the long friendship that existed between their parents and the people of the community when they were little children

Receiving the iterms, the Chief Imam said, he was happy that despite all that happened in the past,they were not afraid to come and donate to this community.

“This is true prove of brotherhood and I am highly impressed with you for what you have done because you have demonstrated to us how peaceful we were as a community. I call on our Muslim brothers to emulate the Baba Mathew’s children”.

Similarly, the Muslims Community Leader of Gana-Ropp, Elder Bala A. Buba ( Man-B), described late Baba Mathew as a committed Christian who was their parents’ friend, saying his children were like brothers to them.

He thank God for the peace they are currently enjoying now, stressing that they have been preaching on the need to live peacefully with one another because without peace, there will be no development.

Muhammad Tijani Kura on his part said Gana-Ropp community has been in existence for over two hundred years because of mining activities

. He thanked the Children of Baba Mathew for consistently supporting the community and wish that their other brothers were around to appreciate them.

Baba Olayleye family were also at Baptist Church and donated same to the Christians community of Gana-Ropp, during which the Church Leader, Pastor Stephen Adamu, appreciated them for great gesture and prayed God to bless them and replenish in full what they have spent.

The Representative of Church Of Christ In Nations (COCIN) Gana-Ropp, Monday Danladi on his part, described the action of Baba Mathew’s children as a true show of love & practical christianity.

He prayed God to continue to bless the family so that, they would continue to do good to community and others.

However, Mrs Mary Davou, who could not help fought back her tears, thanked God for the lives of Baba Mathew’s children that have touch their lives in the community.

” What Baba Olayleye family has done would go a long way in uniting the community that has been ravaged by the unfortunate crisis and attacks saying’ “Mun gode!, Mun gode! Mun gode!( meaning: we thank you, we thank you, we thank you!)

Dr. Daniel Mathew eldest son was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Joyce Daniel Mathew, younger brother, Samson Mathew (Ozogula) and a public affairs commentator and a Minister with The Redeemed Chtistian Church of God ,Jos. Ambassador Yemi Mathew (brother).

They equally visited their late father’s house that they were all given birth in and it was memory of the old good days as they reminiscenced old events they experienced in the community.

Anti malaria drugs to the community clinic, while foodstuffs, clothes, shoes and hand sanitizers were equally distributed to all the churches and mosques in Gana Ropp respectively during the visit.
