Angry youths of Plateau State on Wednesday protested against the unrighteous judgement of the appeal court, which sacked the National Assembly members over pre-election matters which they don’t have locus-standi to entertain the matter but mischievous they have don’t that.

The angry plateau youths which block the major and popular maraba-jama’a and old airport roads leading to the city causes traffic to grid-lock.

The angry plateau youths were assaulted by the men of Nigeria Army seen using woods & iron on peaceful protesters at the Plateau State polytechnic. Men of the Nigeria Army were sent by an APC chieftain in Abuja to harass and intimidate the protesters carrying their constitutional duty.

The Angry plateau youths were chanting give us justices, don’t trade our mandate and judiciary must be purged to bring back their glory and honour.

We demand justice, give us justices and we called for a review of the judgements of Justices Abang, Dowudo and Mustafa.

Plateau:Protest Rocks Jos Over Abuja Court Of Appeal Judgements Against Plateau PDP Lawmakers.

Attai Audu, Jos

Massive Street Protest was recorded in Jos Tin city On Wednesday over Court of Appeal Judgements that nullified the elections of PDP National Assembly lawmakers from the State.

Thousands of PDP’s supporters from the 17 LGAs came out in numbers and blocked the ever busy Mararaban Jama’a roundabout which is gate way to the state capital to protest what they called injustice meted on them by the Court of Appeal Sitting in Abuja.

The Protesters carried playcards with inscriptions “No room for political manipulation, lets protect our heritage , do not end our democracy, Plateau for PDP, our voices must be heard , Mr. President caution the Judiciary and our land needs peace among others”.

In an open letter addressed to the chairman of the National Judicial Council (NJC) by a group, concerned stakeholders in Plateau State ‘titled An urgent need to salvage the Judiciary from plunging into the arena of politics, total disregard to Judicial precedents and stare Decisis.”

The letter which was read to the mammoth crowd by Yakubu Ibrahim, the groups leader, called on the chairman of NJC to constitute commission inquiry into the nature of the failure of Court of Appeal to follow judicial precedents.

According to him, the President of Court of Appeal should immediately disband the Plateau State election Appeal Court Panel and a new one should be constituted to hear the remaining appeals as the current panel has shown manifest bias to unduly favour the APC candidates.

The concerned stakeholders said that the patently prejudiced and inconsistent judgements of the panel already delivered in the appeals should also be subjected to judicial review adding that these judgements were given without substantive and procedural jurisdiction.
Meanwhile security agencies were deployed to strategic junctions within Jos Tincity in Police and Military trucks to keep peace.

Election judgement: North Central APC forum cautions Plateau PDP against protest

Attai Audu, Jos

The North Central All Progressive Congress (APC) Forum has cautioned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State against organizing any form of protest against the ongoing election judgement in the Appeal Court in Abuja.

Speaking yesterday in Jos the Plateau State capital at the forum’s meeting to strategize for the senatorial rerun election ordered by the court, the Chairman, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, said they have been rumours making the rounds about PDP in Plateau State will be stagging a protest in Jos.

According to him, such moves, if true, may not be wise so that it does not degenerate to violence.

He said Jos and Plateau State in general has gone through a lot of crisis over the years and sensitive political issues or demonstrations can trigger crisis if not properly managed.

“The ongoing Plateau election cases at the Appeal Court has been heating the polity unnecessarily. Post election court cases is not only peculiar to Plateau State, and so there is no need to make any problem out of it.

“After election, any aggrieved political party or candidate has the right to pursue their grievances and seek Justice in court, and the judgement of the court is always complied with.

“But for any party or group to want to stage a protest against court matters is uncalled for. We are not questioning the authenticity of the rumour, but all we are saying is to sound a note of caution to any party or group nursing such intention.

“Besides, Plateau State as well as Jos has seen many ethno-religious crisis, and politics is always used as a strong tool to orchestrate the crisis. So, any political protest should always be considered so that it doesn’t turn violence.

“The two current leaders of both the PDP and APC in the state, Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, respectively, are Lawyers. So, they understand what the law says, respect for courts and justices. And therefore we expect that they should be able to caution their respective party members and supporters alike,” he said.

He called on the PDP Presidential Candidate to congratulate President Bola Tinubu after the Supreme Court judgement in Tinubu’s favour, and join hands to work with him and move nation forward.

The failure to do so by Atiku, Zazzaga said, will send wrong signal to other unsuccessful party candidates at the court, especially the PDP whom he is their father figure, and they will unfortunately continue to challenge governance at all levels.

He said such situation is not good for national development, unity and stimulation of democratic dividends.

Plateau: Coalition of Plateau Central Youths Rejects Justice M Tukur Judgement on Plateau Central Senatorial District Dispute.

Attai Audu, Jos

Coalition of Plateau Central Senatorial district Youths has rejected the judgement of Justice M Tukur on the petition brought before panel one of the Jos National/ state Assembly election petition tribunal by Amb. G.Y Gotom of peoples Democratic party against Senator Diket Plang of All Progressive Congress over results of Plateau Central Senatorial district election.

The Youths Coalition leader Mr Tea Gomos while addressing newsmen at his party state Secretariat in Jos at the weekend, accused Justice Tukur led panel who sat on Amb. GY Gotom petition of giving one sided judgement in favor of APC Senatorial candidate who contested the Plateau Central Senatorial election against PDP Senatorial candidate GY Gotom.

He recalled that the results of Plateau Central Senatorial election was not released in February this year at the time results of others were released by the the electoral body (INEC) due some unresolved issues .

He stressed that some of the issues raised by GY Gotom in his petition were among others, over voting, lack of usage of BVAS, results mutilation in some polling units especially In Gagdi ward of Kanam LGA.

According to him, this electoral fraud made the INEC returning officer Professor Daniel Dabi not to declare the winner of the Senatorial elections pending the resolution of the issues raised by the petitioner.

He however regretted that while they were waiting for the resolution of the disputed figures, another returning officer in the person of Dr Jimam Lar was smuggled into Pankshin LGC central collation centre amidst tight security to declare Senator Diket Plang Winner Of the disputed election.

He wondered why despite the over whelming evidence against the election of Senator Plang which we’re tendered by the petitioner GY Gotom through his counsel to the panelists, Justice Tukur panel still went a head to affirm the election of Senator Plang .

” This single act by Justice Tukur led panel is not only worrisome, but a threat to existing peace and Democracy where the collective will of the people of Plateau Central Senatorial district is cut short ” Gotom lamented.

He argued that one of the grounds that Justice Tukur panel used to arrive at their judgement which was on the issue of party structure had for long been decided upon by a Jos high court and Court of Appeal in Jos as it relates to the case of one Augustine Timkuk versus PDP during which the issue of PDP party structure and it’s leadership and compliance to court order was confirmed by the two courts.

He insisted that similar cases have been decided upon by the supreme court.

Gomos said cases of pre election matters should be left for the appellate court and supreme court to right the wrongs committed at the tribunal .

He added that it is often said that the courts is the last hope of a common man because it is believed that Justice would be served when approached ,but regretted that in the case at hand, justice is not served for the Petitioner but to the defendant who did not present even a single witness before the panel.

Gomos said the Youths of Plateau Central Senatorial district are not comfortable with Justice Tukur judgement because up till today, the results of the Plateau Central Senatorial district election is not yet declared by the lawfully appointed returning officer Professor Daniel Dabi as he rightly tendered before the tribunal court.

He called on the people and Youths of Plateau Central Senatorial district to remain calm and peaceful as GY Gotom team of lawyers heads to court of Appeal to seek justice for their client GY Gotom .

The group state Chairman and Secretary Dashe Dawan and Elder Timlor Vongjen in a joint statement issued in Jos on Tuesday and a copy made available to Oracle Reporters regretted that some of the judicial pronouncements of the election Petition Tribunals that were given recently were very strange to the people of Plateau especially the people of Plateau South Senatorial district.

They wondered why Plateau Election Petition Tribunal and of recent the Court of Appeal should give contradictory judgements on the same elections and the same subject matters, thereby throwing the entire state into a state of total confusion and apprehension.

“Besides, this urgly development calls for a great concerns on the role of the judiciary in upholding the tenets of democracy and appreciating the wishes of the people.”

“We are shocked by the pattern of the judgements, nullifying elections of some of our representatives, under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over what is termed as improper nomination and sponsorship of candidates by the PDP.”

According to them, “this act of the judiciary may be perceived as imposing on its self the role of determining who will rule the people against their popular wishes”..

“Similarly, we hereby called on the judiciary to save democracy and allow justice to be served.”

According to them, Plateau people are not willing to throw away the mandate they freely gave their elected representatives on grounds of judicial technicalities and some other contradictory pronouncements.

“The time is now for the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) and the National Judicial Council (NJC) and indeed, prominent Nigerians to prevail on the judges handling election matters from Plateau State to allow the people have those they voted into office to represent them.

” The association also believes that the judiciary will restrain any efforts that will destabilize Plateau State, as our desire to live in peace is not optional, but a necessity.”

They called on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed TINUBU ( GCFR) to rise up to the occasion of defending the evolving Democracy in Plateau state and Nigeria at large..

“The desire for the people of the state to participate in the electoral process was clearly demonstrated in 2023 general elections where the people came out in large number, to vote their preferred candidates and it
is our believe and hope that our elected representatives will bring the dividends of democracy right to our door steps”.

“Besides, this urgly development calls for a great concerns on the role of the judiciary in upholding the tenets of democracy and appreciating the wishes of the people.”

“We are shocked by the pattern of the judgements, nullifying elections of some of our representatives, under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over what is termed as improper nomination and sponsorship of candidates by the PDP”.

“By this act , the judiciary may be perceived as imposing on its self the role of determining who will rule the people against their popular wishes.”

“We must further state that these developments are a great threat to democracy in Nigeria as it’s stand today. “

They warned that this ugi situation if not properly handled and managed can lead to total break down of law and order and as well undermine the existing peace on the Plateau.

“Plateau people are not willing to throw away the mandate they freely gave their elected representatives on grounds of judicial technicalities and some other contradictory pronouncements.” They warned.

Embracing Hope: A personalized Journey with Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis/Screening.

Embracing Hope: A Personalized Journey with Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and Screening

My Dear Friends,

Today, I come to you with a story of hope, love, and boundless possibilities—a tale that touches upon the deeply personal, yet universally profound, journey of family building.

As a fertility specialist, I have had the privilege of witnessing countless miracles, each one unique, each one cherished. In our endeavor to support you on this extraordinary journey, we offer a service that is both groundbreaking and profoundly meaningful: Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and Screening.

Imagine, for a moment, a young couple, their hearts entwined in a love that knows no bounds. They dream of a family, of little hands to hold and sweet laughter filling their home. However, they carry a weight, a genetic predisposition that adds an extra layer of complexity to their journey.

This is where Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and Screening emerges as a beacon of hope. It empowers couples, like the one I described, with the ability to navigate the path of parenthood with confidence and grace. It allows them to dream, not just of a family, but of a future where their children can grow, thrive, and flourish without the limitations that genetics may have otherwise placed upon them.

One of the most beautiful aspects of this journey is its inclusivity. It embraces all couples, regardless of their unique genetic makeup. For instance, consider couples who both carry the trait for a recessive genetic condition. Through AS and AS marriage, there is a one in four chance that their child may inherit the condition. Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis ensures that we stand with them, providing a safeguard, ensuring that only healthy embryos are selected for implantation, thus reducing the risk to an astonishing one in eight.

It’s a testament to how science and compassion can join hands to rewrite the story of possibility.

Allow me to share a personal experience that has profoundly shaped my conviction in the power of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis. A couple, faced with the uncertainty of a genetic condition, came to our facility with a heart full of dreams and a touch of apprehension. Together, we embarked on a journey of discovery, and through meticulous testing and unwavering support, we identified the healthiest embryos, brimming with potential.

As I watched this couple hold their child for the first time, I knew that this was not just about science. It was about rewriting destinies, about opening doors to a future unburdened by the shadows of uncertainty.

My dear friends, in this era of unprecedented scientific advancement, we have the privilege and the responsibility to offer you not just medical expertise, but a hand to hold, a heart that empathizes, and a commitment to stand with you every step of the way.

The journey towards parenthood is a sacred one, and at ALPS Hospitals & Diagnostics, it is our honor to be a part of it.

Cheers!

With unwavering hope,

Bishop Katung Hails President Tinubu’s Victory At Supreme Court.

Bishop Jonas Katung
  • Tasks Tinubu to be courageous and intensify the implementation of his Economic Blue Print to Address Current Hardship.

Okwuta Audu, Jos

The President and Founder of the Living Stone Church Assembly world wide, Bishop Jonas Katung, has described the validation of President Bola Tinubu’s election by the Supreme Court as an affirmation of the overwhelming mandate given to him by Nigerians.

The Bishop, one of the key leaders of Northern Bishops who openly supported the President’s Presidential aspiration and also rallied round massive support across party lines within the church in the North for President Tinubu during the Presidential campaign early this year, said in an interview with newsmen in Jos on Monday that the decision of the apex court was in tandem with the general wishes of Nigerians as expressed freely through the ballot box accross the country during the Presidential Elections where Tinubu emerged victorious.

Bishop Katung while congratulating
President Tinubu, said this victory is for the entire nation and lovers of democracy irrespective of tribal or religious afiliations and backgrounds.

He said this decision by the highest court of the land has cleared the coast for the Tinubu’s administration to settle down and face the task of delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigerians.

Katung, a widely respected Christian cleric, added that going by the interaction Northern Bishops had with President Tinubu at the build-up of the presidential election, he knew that President Tinubu meant business to deal with the economic saboteurs who are currently holding this country hostage, stressing that the President should now go all out with his economic team to implement his economic blue print for the people of Nigeria to take them out of the current hardship being experienced across the country.

Katung appealed to all Nigerians to join hands with the President in building a strong Nigeria that will present hope to this generation and the ones to come.

Kogi Guber Polls: CLO threatens to drag Governor Yahaya Bello Before International Criminal Court over attacks on opposition parties.

Attai Audu Jos

The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) has threatened to drag Governor Yahaya Bello to the International Criminal Court over increasing waive of violence in many parts of Kogi state ahead of November 11th governorship election in Confluence state.

Director of the organization, Steve Aluko disclosed this in Jos at an interactive session with newsmen on Wednesday.

He said their decision has become imperative as the electoral violence in Kogi State has cost many lives and destruction of properties for some years now, and that most of the political violence in the state worsened under governor Bello.

The CLO Director explained that the killings, attacks and destruction of properties are mostly targeted at the opposition parties, and that such daily political violence is almost becoming unprecedented in the history of the country.

“Therefore, Yahaya Bello must account for all the violence that has occurred under him since he is the number one security officer of the state”

He , added that as a civil right body, they are also including all those culpable in the violence.

He said in addition to their plan to drag Governor Bello to the ICC, they are also pushing for Visa ban against all those culpable in the Kogi political violence, and urged the United States of America, Europe, China and other Asian countries to act accordingly so that it would serve as deterrent to others.

Aluko said Bello must realize that election in Nigeria has become a global issue that will attract the attention and reaction of the international community, and any offence committed in any state of the nation cannot be isolated and go unpunished.

He pointed out that sometimes back, the attacks were focused against the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where an instance of this was in the last 2019 election where the PDP women leader in Ochadamu area of Ofu Local Government was set ablaze in her house.

According to Aluko, there were other attacks against the PDP then, including several against the Kogi Central Senatorial candidate, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

According to him, the attacks are now mostly on party officials, supporters and campaign offices of the Social Democratic Offices (SDP) and the disruptions of their political rallies by thugs.

He said this has been happening almost on a daily basis for long now, including one of the latest ones which was last Saturday’s attack on the house of SDP Zonal Chairman, Pastor Sunday Atabo, where he was beaten to the state of coma and his property were destroyed in his Aja-Odi Agojoeju home.

He called President Bola Tinubu to urgently interfere in the Kogi electoral violence, if not it will appear that the President or All Progressive Congress (APC), under which Platform Bello is ruling, has a hand in the violence going on in Kogi State.

The CLO Director stressed that this is the first election is being conducted under President Bola Tinubu’s watch, and that it will be an indictment on his part as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces if such political violence or intimidation is allowed to continue, and the earlier he does it the better so that he will not be seen as an accomplice to the crime against humanity in the state.

Senator Amos Yohanna Sworn In At the Senate, Replaces Elisha Abo.

The Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau, has sworn in Amos Yohanna, as the new Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District.

Yohanna (PDP, Adamawa), replaces Senator Elisha Abbo (APC) who was sacked by the Court of Appeal Court on Monday last week.

It would be recalled that a three-member panel presided over by Justice C. E. Nwosu-Iheme, last week, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to issue a Certificate of Return to Amos Yohanna as the duly elected Senator after it upturned Abbo’s victory at the tribunal level.

The appellate court vacated the tribunal judgment which earlier affirmed Abbo of the APC as the winner of the senatorial election.

INEC had declared Abbo the winner of the February 25 parliamentary election.
