A political group under the auspices of Plateau Democratic Congress(PDC) has tipped Chief Amos Gizo a grass root Politician and a dependable Political ally of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu as possible replacement of H E Bar Simon Lalong the former Minister of Labour and Employment from Plateau state at Federal executive Council .
Leader of the group Alhaji Kabir Abubakar and Dauda Paul as Secretary made this known at a press conference in Jos on Tuesday.
The group leader noted that the choice of Chief Gizo a statesman par excellence as the choice of the APC stakeholders on the Plateau to be picked as federal Minister from Plateau will give the people of Plateau a sense of belonging in the state and as well in the country.
It is a known fact that Chief Gizo for two decades now has had an unbroken Political relationship with President Tinubu which started with Alliance for Democracy (AD) after Gizo left the Peoples Democratic Party following the crisis that rocked the Party in the state.
Chief Gizo remained with President Tinubu in that defunct party until they formed ACD and after ACD, they moved to form AC which Chief Gizo was the Plateau state Chairman of the Party.
Even when the party’s name was changed from AC to ACN, Gizo was the state party chairman until they merged with other Progressive Political parties to form All Progressive Congress ( APC)
Going by the political pedigree of Chief Gizo on the Plateau, he has worked so hard on the Plateau for the survival of the ruling APC on the Plateau.
Chief Gizo deserves a Ministerial slot to replace Lalong who recently resigned from the federal executive council to take his seat at the red Chambers of National Assembly as Senator representing the People of Plateau South constituency.
During the 2023 Presidential election campaigns in the Country, Chief Amos Gizo used his contacts and resources, good will to campaign for President Tinubu across the states in the North particularly Bauchi and Plateau his home state.
Chief Gizo before and during presidential campaigns, formed many groups in the North to campaign for Tinubu’s Presidency and was at the forefront of the preparation for the 2022 Presidential primary election, particularly in the Plateau and the North in general.
Gizo as Plateau state Coordinator of President’ Tinubu Presidential campaigns successfully coordinated the delegates from Plateau for Tinubu during the Presidential Primaries that were held at Eagle Square Abuja which Tinubu eventually won.
Another point of note to all concerned on the Plateau and President Tinubu to take note of , is that between 1999 to date, Plateau South from where Lalong Hails from has produced Six Ministers in the person’s of Fidelis Tapgun, Josephine Tapgun, Dame Pauline Tallen, Barr Solomon Dalung and lately the Immediate past Plateau Governor,Simon while Plateau North Senatorial district has produced Damishi Sango, Late Mark Aku, Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande and Mrs Sarah Ochekpe .
In all this, Plateau central Senatorial district despite the presence of political giants in the zone has only had Ambassador Bagudu Hirse from Mangu LGA of the zone. Chief Amos Gizo hails from Kanam Local government of Plateau Central Zone a Local Government that has never produced even a Senator or Governor despite the only Local Government that produced the highest votes for APC Plateau Democratic Congress wants to use this opportunity to call on President Tinubu to move his searchlight for Lalong’s replacement to Plateau central Senatorial district of Plateau state this time around and zero it down on Chief Amos Gizo who is a team player that has what it takes to carry along all the political interest groups on the Plateau.
APC as a ruling party will have no challenge in winning Plateau in 2007 if Chief Gizo is saddled with the responsibility of representing Plateau at the federal executive council between now and 2027 when President Tinubu will be seeking re-election for his second term mandate from Nigerian people across the 36 states and FCT.. A stitch in time saves Nine.
A group under the auspices of Southern Plateau Concerned APC Youths have drummed support for Hon Yakubu Dati as a worthy replacement to the Minster of Labour and Employment Bar Simon Lalong .

The statement added that ” Its impressive to call on the attention of the general public regarding the positive growth Hon. Yakubu Dati brought to Plateau state and Nigeria at large. “
” Hon. Yakubu was the Chief of Staff to the DG campaign Tinubu/Shetima (Muslim Muslim) Ticket.
He is an administrator and equally a politician who is vibrant, hardworking, full of empathy and gratitude. “
They added that Dati is a dynamic leader whose efforts for greatness is boundless in all substantial areas of endeavours and ramifications of life, as he has a clear concept of exactly what he wants to achieve and that is why Lalong decided to work with him always. .
The statement also reads that ” Yakubu Dati, was born in Jos, Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria. He graduated from University of Jos where he had obtained a degree in Theatre Arts in 1986, aside that, he also holds a Masters degree in International Law and Diplomacy and a Diploma in Airport Operations.”
” In 1999, Yakubu Dati became Chairman of Mikang Local Government Council and in 2001 he was appointed Hon. Commissioner of Sports by the Joshua Dariye-led Plateau State government.”
Hon. Dati became Commissioner for Information in 2003. Hon. Yakubu Dati after leaving the Plateau State government had served as the General Manager Corporate Communications, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria.
He also briefly served as a Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in 2005.
Because of his integrity, influence and wealth of experience, He came back in Plateau State for his third stint as a Commissioner and oversees affairs at the Plateau State Ministry of Information and has done a great job handling Governor Simon Lalong’s public image and that of the Plateau State government before moving to Ministry for land, survey and town planning as a commissioner.
When Lalong was given DG campaign of Tinubu/Shetima Muslim Muslim ticket which triggered massive accusations from Plateau people, and those outside plateau like Yakubu Dogara and Babachir Lawal Some describing him as betrayers while others said he lack direction.
The group added that ” It will interest Nigerians to know that all this inimical displayed of attitudes was not thrown to Lalong alone, but also with his Chief of Staff Hon. Yakubu Dati. The situation was not friendly to them both.”
Dati’s was given the Chief of staff because of his propitious exploits and track records which the then Governor Lalong did not hesitate to appoint him as his Chief of staff to Tinubu/Shetima DG campaign.
According to the group “Dati tendered his resignation latter as commissioner and accepted to support the Muslim Muslim despites pressures and insults some carbals thrown on him and Lalong. “
” Hon. Yakubu Dati has paid his dues in full to APC and the ‘Renew Hope’ Movement because during the campaign, he was up and doing, designing map on how APC will record success while others are in their convenient zone blackmailing the efforts of the relentless man for supporting Muslim Muslim Ticket. “
They added that ” It will be fair to say that, If there is anyone Lalong should consider after himself for the ministerial seat, then it should be his Chief staff whom they always work together for good. “
” We are so concern about the Man Hon. Dati for his loyalty and hard work to be rewarded. “
He may not speak for himself because of his undiluted and boundless fidelity to Lalong.
Dati’s impacts to APC and the Renewed Hope existence is obvious even to the blind , the deaf can also testify that Dati deserves the best in this Renew Hope administration that those who accused at the initial are now fabricating ways to benefit more than those who suffered for it.
It’s with great enthusiasm and unbridle sobriety that we state this categorically clear that good things should be done to Hon. Yakubu Dati for a sustainable progressive Nigeria ,the statement further reads.

“Accordingly, in this respect, SCPWBs should work closely with the Commission’s Staff in order to ensure a smooth pilgrimage including deliberate actions to minimize abscondments at all times”.
“That the authority of federal government officials (including NCPC staff) should be communicated by the E.S. to all states during conference of States meeting.

“In this respect, any pilgrim submitting an expired passport should be automatically seen as a potential absconder and that in respect of the above, issuance of Visa on passport to staff of the Commission is deemed to enhance their relevance and ease of movement of such staff while the Commission is expected to embark on continuous re-evaluation of screening reports and the list of names sent for Visa procurement.”
“Accordingly , the (Operations Department upon having sent for Visa procurement , and will accordingly sent relevant Visa lists to the Special Duties Department and copy the relevant Zonal Co-ordinator for the purpose of re-evaluation in order to eliminate error including the potential abscond..
The Communique reached also states that the relevance of trend analysis regarding abscondment should be sustained and utilised since it now indicates a change in this category of absconders to include self-sponsored pilgrims and others from 75 years and above.
“consequently a thorough screening emphasis on the sponsors of person in this category is to be emphasized in order to reveal those who those are potential absconders while the role of ground handlers should include getting information from management of hotels where our pilgrims are to stay regarding secret exit and that ground handlers should enter MOUs with hotels for pilgrims to accept the review of recordings of CCTV cameras when the need arises.”
“Guarantors should be informed of the implications of agreeing to stand as sureties in order to properly secure their willingness to stand as guarantors for intending Pilgrims.” The Communique stressed. Party executives of the All Progressive Congress in plateau state from the central zone of Plateau state have expressed shock on the purported disclaimer duly signed by the Plateau State APC Publicity Secretary; Mr. Sylvanus Namang on a purported leaked document for the endorsement of Hon. Bitrus Barji Kasuwa to replace Labour and employment Minister.
Chairman of the party in the ward said disclaimer allegedly issued by the State Party leadership is sad band regrettable.
The ward chairman of the party expressed dismayed over the actions of the mouthpiece of the party describing the actions as sad and a bad Omen for the party in the state having just lost the 2023 gubernatorial elections in the state
According to him since the writers of the alleged leaked document confessed that their efforts to confirm Hon. Bitrus Kasuwa Barji and the veracity of his purported endorsement by the State Party were fruitless, the Party should have refrain from making statements capable of questioning their neutrality.
Suffice it to mention here that, if the statement credited to the State Party Leadership is true to the effect that they e
does not know Hon. Bitrus Barji Kasuwa who bought forms and contested the Party primaries twice for the position of house of representatives to represent Kanam, Kanke and Pankshin Federal constituency, then such hasty conclusions leave much to be desired.
“We expect a non-partisan leadership to have made attempts to find out his membership status from his ward, if they can not pick his unit Party register which is in their possession at the moment to confirm for themselves”.
He pointed out that the media space in the past few days is awashed with speculations of diverse interests about the replacement of his Excellency Rt. Hon. Barr. Simon Bako Lalong as Minister,
we advise that the supremacy of the party at the State level should not be exercised to satisfy few interests by throwing caution to the wind and making uncomplimentary remarks about other party members. After all, even if some State Party executives who were not in APC at its formative age claim not to know Hon. Bitrus Kasuwa Barji for certain vested interest, does it also mean that the State party executive members from Kanam, Kanke and Pankshin do not also know him.
The right thing to do is for the party to take stock of all those interested in the Ministerial position and fashion out a systematic approach to harmonize all interests without necessarily casting aspirations on Legitimate Party members. Doing this will improve and strengthen the cohesiveness of the party to squarely face the challenges ahead of us.. By Most importantly, the zone strongly believe that the replacement of Labour Minister should be an opportunity for Plateau Central zone to present someone like Hon. Bitrus Barji Kasuwa who is a youth with unparalleled vision, capacity, competence and above all a party loyalist of repute for the position.
Finally, it must be borne in mind that, recent developments show that past Governors from the southern and Northern Plateau have nominated candidates from their zones for Ministerial slots and were appointed. This to us is a precedent that Plateau Central zone should not be treated in isolation but should enjoy such privilege as well which Hon. Barji has all it takes to be nominated for the replacement of Labour Minister for the growth of Nigeria and advancement of APC as a party.

”Few months after his inauguration, the administration of Gov. Caleb Mutfwang had made tangible progress in ensuring security of lives and property, rehabilitation roads, provision of other social amenities, human capital development, among other developmental strides.
”His passion toward fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among various demographics in the state has been noticed by all.
”Indeed the people of Plateau have, within a short time witnessed the dividends of exemplary leadership, a quality which the state has been bereft of for many years.

The popular will of the peace loving people of Plateau as expressed at the polls on the March 18, is under a looming threat.
We only ask that the court recognises and respect the mandate given by the people to the governor, and strictly adhere to the provisions of the constitution regarding the process of its judgment.
”We have faith in the hallowed chambers of our judiciary and believe that her worthy Judges will execute temperance and an unwavering sense of justice while hearing and judging the appeal at the Supreme Court, God helping them.
”The people of Plateau will hold on to their witness of our dear state rising out of the ashes of gross mal-governance, and our strong faith in the actions of Gov. Caleb Mutfwang,”he added.
The youths commenced their road walk from the famous Jos secretariat junction and moved to other parts of Jos chanting solidarity songs.
