Langtang North Local Government Area Chairman Ubandoma Joshua Laven has commended security agencies for beefing up security in his LGA after he raised alarm over influx of strangers into his locality.
Ubandoma gave the commendation in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Jos.
It would be recalled that the Chairman on August 27, 2021 at newsmen briefing in Jos, alerted security agencies of influx of strange persons into Langtang North LGA
“The situation is calm now because the security agencies responded within 24 hours after the alarm.
“I must commend Police Area Commander, ACP Bayo Surudeen, he was up and doing and the Forward Operation Base (FOB) Commander Lt. Col JN Azi who also responded swiftly.
“Since then the security personnel comprising the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force have been patrolling virtually everywhere.
“This means that if security agencies are aware of impending situation, they will swiffly respond to curtail it.
“They have been combing virtually every nuks and crannies of Langtang,” he said.
According to him, the Vigilante and hunters were also on red alert in the communities to complement the efforts of the security agencies.
Ubandoma hoped that the security agencies would not withdraw their men because the situation is calm.
According to him, the attackers were clever, deceitful and cunnny, stating that with the presence of the security, they (attackers) may relax and strike whenever the opportunity presents itself.
The Langtang North chairman appealed to the Plateau Commissioner of Police and and FOB commander not to withdraw their men for the area.
“Their presence is what is stopping assailants from striking because my alarm was not a fake one because there was security intelligence and there was confirmation from security agencies”.
He called on the people of the area to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement to security agencies.
