The Management Committee Chairman of Jos South Local council of Plateau State, Amb . Gideon Dung Dandereng , has declared his intention to contest the chairmanship seat of the council .
Dandereng was endorsed as the Consensus candidate by all ward chairmen of the All Progressive Congress APC in the council.
Making his declaration in Jos on Tuesday, Dandereng’s media Consultant Hon Ayuba Pam Dangwong said there were aware and conscious of the party’s guidelines saying all the critical stakeholders from Gyel District met and also took far reaching decisions where they unanimously endorsed the aspiration and candidature of Hon Gideon Dandereng ,the current management committee chairman of Jos South local government .
He said “We are happy that Governor Simon Lalong has come out to say elections into all the Seventeen LGA’s will hold after the reviewing of the security situation in these councils .
According to him, the decision by the Governor has revised partisanship and increased interests in direct grassroots participation in the electoral process ,not only in the affected council areas but the state and Nigeria in general.
Dandereng who spoke at the occasion said if he is elected he would revamp the council
In his words ” I would ensure and work with security operatives to make the council more peaceful .”
He called on members of the council to support his ambition, stressing that he will not disappoint them when he eventually gets the party’s ticket to contest the election.
